Oh wow! I totally thought it was a solenoid. Guess it makes sense why it's such a massive part. It's actually a motor and some kind of worm gear setup. Much appreciated!

Thank you for sharing this, I've sent it to numerous people chasing 4x4 issues with their truck. On a separate note, any chance you can share the part number for your top post batteries? I also have a 6.5 and want to switch to this style but the guy at my local NAPA claims I can't get them for my truck. Any info/ specs would be greatly appreciated!

100% my question answered i have sometimes noise that sounds like partial engagement of the front diff. That would do it.

Do you know where it gets it's signal from is it the switch or the module?

Hey I’m wondering this too, did you find out?

So if i want to run one of these off a stand-alone switch, just run keyed power and ground to the actuator and a switch to ground to activate? Is it really that simple??
@kaidenblackburn9878 Жыл бұрын
Did you ever figure that out? I think I going to have to run a switch but idk how. If you remember how to run a switch let me know thanks

I bench tested mine and it works but are you saying because there is no load that it may not work?

question, when the actuator is out of the vehicle should the plunger be in or out ?
@GreatEgret5 жыл бұрын
It could be either. It depends on how you left the front axle. If it's in 4WD, it should be out. If it's in 2HI it should be in.

Know this is an old post, but going through a similar issue. Now power to my actuator, 4x4 fuse is good, new actuator and new t case switch. Upgraded from the old thermal actuator to the electric one. System used to work fine then stopped worked, replaced the above mentioned parts and still nothing. Where should I be looking at next?

Where's your fuse? I have a 2010 gmc ,I've changed about 3 auto zone actuators...I can't find any help on internet...this is close as I've come. My truck is manual shift in floor

If it's like my 2004 gmc canyon, the transfer case module is right under driver seat under the carpet and it is the first thing to have water in it when go off road. I lost the 4x4 at the moment I needed it most. I opened the tcm plastic box and wiped the corrosion off the chip with alcool and baking soda. It fixed it

My 04 silverado hubs won't unlock from 4wd. Actuator tests out fine with it plugged into the harness. Transfer case shifts fine between 4h, 2h, and 4l, just won't disengage the front wheels. The tires scrub in 2wd. Any help?

Sooooo. Does that mean the actuator works or not? Or did I miss the point of this video?
@802Garage5 жыл бұрын
This one works, yes. At least when not encountering any load. The point was to show how the actuator works. Many people think it is a solenoid, which would just pop in and out when given power. It's actually a motor drive.
