It was not easy but I got it done. I paid $114 for the mount on Amazon. I dropped the headliner and used a piece of rope to tie the headliner back. I tied it to the head rests on the seat in the second row. This allowed me to lay on my back in the rear of my car. Once I figured this out the replacement was pretty simple. This video was very helpful. I am sure that I saved a lot of money..

this video helped me to replace my 2015 traverse antenna base. just be careful, do not over tighten the bolt. when i mounted the unit first, it started working perfectly. just before I closed the roof liner, I turned the bolt a bit more tighter. once I put the liner and put back all the covers in place, turned on the car, no sound was coming at all from the amp. no chimes, no radio. then i spent 2 hrs checking the fuses etc, finally decided to open the liner again and unplug the antenna connectors, and the chimes started sounding again, then plugged back only the fm antenna, the white connector, no sound again. then i started removing the bolt from the antenna, just turned back half a turn and the sound came back. i tightened again, and no sound. so i ended up turning back by a full turn in the bolt, everything works now. it seems like a cheap construction. its a genuine GM part by Ac delco.

1st of all I am 77 years old and have had Parkinson's for a couple years now - maybe 3. So this task was at best arduous. I pulled the entire antenna and disconnected the white and maroon connectors (2012 Traverse LT with 118,000 miles). Then I discovered I had ordered the incorrect part from Amazon and sent it back. Then when I discovered how much the correct part cost ($130) I said I would do without it and my iPhone with Alexa and/or KZbin to listen to my favorite sources. So I reassembled it as best I could - I had to stop with the coat hangers because I just didn't have the stamina and steadiness needed. When I turned the radio on, I found it had full reception on both bands! I am not going to be surprised if it returns to the fail state - but hope not. 🙂🙂🙂
