When you was taking the heads off, i was wondering if you was going to loosen the bottom short bolts. Lol, everyone is human and im sure there was no pressure from the camera. Ive been a mechanic for 25 years, I still watch videos on this stuff. You are never too old to learn!

This video was exactly what I needed to see. I have an S10 with what I believe to be head gasket issues. It's sat forever because 1200$ is too much to fix it and I've been scared to do it myself...Until now. The intake manifold/throttle body etc. comes off as one piece? Fantastic. Cylinder head can stay assembled? News to me! Outstanding. Thank you so much for posting this video.
@AutoEclinic11 жыл бұрын
Thank you! You can remove the intake with throttle body attached but you may want to remove the throttle body from the intake afterwards. This gives you a chance to clean the carbon build up. Also a new throttle body gasket may prevent a possible leak issue. The cylinder heads can remain assembled while unbolting them from the block. Although if there was any suspected head or head gasket problem its always best to have them checked for cracks and straightness.

I never have but I do suggest that you check your oil pressure and check to make sure your motor is cycling oil well by removing your valve cover and letting your vehicle run for a minute to see if any oil is coming up. Nice vid. Could you please tell how to check the harmonic balancer for this engine? I'm asking, because on idle there's some small vibrations, when I push the gas pedal when in parking the vibrations get stronger. The strongest ones are ~1500-2000 RPM, then gets a little less when higher RPM. When cruising and when I try to floor it, the vibrations are very big. One friend told to check if torque converter is ok (i doubt it would be bad, because had a full tranny repair 1 month ago) and if harmonic balancer is ok, but don't know how to test it. Any help/info would be great. Thank you!
