Now everyone that bought the tow and stow b and w hitch that would work with the tailgate are going to be pissed

Does this really solve the problem or does it just help forgetful people?

To bad the wiring will break before it hits 150,000 , they only use two strands of cooper in the wiring harness , cheap bastards

Or you can just not be an idiot and take you hitch out. How much is the sensor if it breaks or malfunctions??

@@Pickuptrucktalk Yeah but it won't open from the button on the tailgate, only keyfob and inside button.

Not a good solution. Doubling down on bad design by layering on even more bad design. Good engineering wouldn’t require chintzy electronic switches prone to weathering and abuse.

I don’t understand the entire concept of this, is it trying to solve a problem that might be the fact that the top of your tailgate is above your shoulders? Hard not to giggle at dudes in construction who don’t think about this when they buy these massive trucks, you literally can’t reach over the bed to grab anything. Solution? Make truck smaller? Nope, let’s engineer our way through a goddamn origami tailgate instead of swallowing our egos.
