I think there may have been a mis-move here, by Hikaru (I could be wrong) At timeframe 5:32, when Dave moves the black pawn two spaces up (and someone says “Nice move, Dave”), Hikaru takes it with his pawn... how?? The pawns are sitting side by side, that is not a kill spot for Hikaru’s pawn. Please let me know if my explanation made any sense or not, and if I am incorrect in what I think happened Thanks (love the channel)

Two mistakes that sealed Dave's fate: 11. f5 enables the black knight to infiltrate into e5 on the way to cause havoc later on on the white king-side pawn structure. Then 14. g4 is an even greater mistake that any serious chess player would know to avoid given black advanced his pawn to b5 and about to threaten to chase the white knight away. A much better move would have been a3 to prevent that, and in the next move to move knight away from c3 to a2 to alleviate the congestion on the c-file that the black rook controls.

Not really, there is no point going Na2 because after a3 black can't play b4, black will play Nc4 with much better position. After b5, a3 is not a good move, the best is Nd5 giving away the pawn (1.Nd5 Nxd5 2. exd5 Bxf5 3. Nxf5 gxf5) but doubling black pawns and worsening the pawn structure near black's king.

Just after 2:53 - if the player making a move makes the evaluation bar subsequently move in his favour does this indicate that they made a better move than the computer foresaw? Or is it simply a delay in computer calculation?

I didn't see that happen, but both your guesses are the same thing. The engine picks candidate moves to calculate first, then gets around to other moves later. Sometimes one of those moves is found to be better, and the evaluation will change. If the player makes the better move before the engine realizes it, the engine will switch to only evaluating that one move and quickly see that it is better.
