Good video. I have the l8t when across the scale with my 16ft dump at 32k it pulled fine but was definitely eating on some back roads to keep up. Only bought it for the 3yr or 50k mile warranty. But think I might just trade it in for l5p

So tired of this line. Of course you'll get more money back from your diesel. You paid more for it. Percentage wise it's basically a wash, and is even trending towards favoring the gas these days because people don't want diesels out of warranty due to all the emissions crap and how expensive it is to replace that stuff.

Own a L8T 24' 2500 silverado crecab custom SRW and only mod it's a catch can to help valves. IMO, the only reason why we use Diesel engines of the same displacement is to create more torque and pull more and use the same space the gasser volume engine does. Talking specific about engine that is the main and maybe only reason in today's world. I seena 2500 SRW with Gas taking advantage of the power and low maintenance of that platform mainly people who don't want a 1500 but a bit more power and better suspension, handling and brakes to stop from 5K to 10K easy. If you need more breaks but not more power or just better handling, do it DRW. A 3500 DRW the best setup for a diesel engine to pull AND stop the max weight . A 3500 SRW for those who don't need 36000lbs but drive a lot on mountains and hills. Fancy and show off guys will do whatever, especially denalis or high country, to feel power regardless the use. And that's ok too. If they can, why not.

Now remove the shackles off the duramax, increase the injection timing 15pts, and then get back to me. No comparison.

R - All depends on what you're wanting out of the engine. There certainly is a point to compare them. Maybe not for you, but certainly for others.
