In the Philippines, the industry still runs on an outdated network/studio system. Some artists like Julie Anne signed up for a record label not tied to a TV network, this I guess makes it easier for colab projects.

its because they are exclusively contact ..like jullie ann is at gma most of the artist there are gma and some are a non exclusive ..few are abs cbn ..you reacted most artist at abs cbn .regine ..jaya jona ogie are all come from gma .. especially regine she is a homegrown talent of gma .but for some reason she is now a abs talent just recently..

Hi Dan! I absolutely agree with you! As one reactor once said, it is a shame that not all Filipinos are appreciative of ALL their singers and talents because of the "commercialism" that is proliferating in the industry! Pirating talents has become somehow a way of life in the industry where money really dictates. The public is somehow shortchanged because of the divisiveness that this so-called rivalry has brought! Bashing, hate of the other networks' artists has become the lifestyle primarily due to this "rivalry!" You could just imagine if there is no rivalry, each and every Filipino might be more appreciative of all the talents and focus more on the talent and style rather than the network where a particular artist has a contract with! For me, the worst that could happen really (which is happening now) is to compare artists. Singing is an ART and it really depends on the listener. No hate whatsoever! It is like comparing a painting of Picasso with that of a Monet! Just my thoughts! Just waiting fort he pandemic to end and you know.....

Completely agree. I don't understand the hate just because of a network. The artist will go wherever helps them spread their music so it's not their fault, and the network helps promote them. Why should network rivalry matter? Also agree with your comparison about Picasso and Monet - beauty is in the eye of the beholder...or in this case, the ear. No doubt these artists can sing - let's just enjoy their talents.

And the recording company are owned by the network. Not in every case but I know this of abscbn artists because when I've contacted their management to collab on a charity duets album this is what I was told.
