I think the video would have been better if they just used the girl at the end for all those activities. The message would have been clear anyway.

Yep. No wonder this PSA has been deleted in various places. It's *actually* ableist to pretend disabled people imagine themselves happy *only if they could be non-disabled.*

You're totally right! It's like she's a lesser to Olivia Wilde!

I wasn't sure where this was going. But it was a beautiful message. I can relate being a Mother of an Adult with Down Syndrome..

please god no. there’s no reason why people should see you any different if you have down syndrome or if you’re a neurotypical. you don’t have to compare the kid with down syndrome to ol*via wilde in order to get this point across. everyone is equal no matter what, but this video’s execution of this idea is not good.

"there’s no reason why people should see you any different if you have down syndrome or if you’re a neurotypical." "everyone is equal no matter what" duh dumbass. that's the whole point of the ad. abby wants people to look at her as they look at people without disabilities. the whole point is her showing that. also, if you did any research, you would know that Rose (the woman at the end who is one of few producers we have with down syndrome) came up with the idea for this herself. She was very happy about this.

creatures, excuse me? i'm sure you didn't mean that in a bad way and probably had good intentions, but the word "creatures" makes it sound like you're saying someone with down syndrome isn't human. no hate or anything it's just so you know for next time and avoid possibly offending someone. x
