1. Most people can't see or afford to see a board certified dermatologist. 2. Look for products with shorter ingredient list. 3. I help people at my job with skin care among other things, and yes, what works for me doesn't mean it will work for you. 4. You need mostt of these products, like she says, a cleanser, moisturizer and sunscreen.

As a horticulture major, it is important understand that being "Organic" doesn't mean it's "free" from pesticide! We still use pesticides, but as a last resort! It is also important to note that what is "Organic" here in the states may not be considered organic somewhere else and vise versa so be cautious when buying Organic especially if you don't see the label, with online being a huge shopping point products could say "Organic" but may not be Organic by US standards or by EU standards or any place for that matter! Remember, just because something says Organic doesn't mean it's free from chemicals or toxins. If you are ever wanting to know what pesticides are used and allowed for farms that are or have certified organic label the OMRI websites has a great list complied with lots of details on what pesticides labels are allowed for companies with "Organic" labeling. All pesticides must have SDS or Safety Data Sheet this is a global and international requirement for all Pesticides. As for buying Organic online always check to see if it has the label if it doesn't then chances it isn't, but check the companies website of the product your buying to be on safe side if your having doubts, if you can't find it on their website then assume it is not Organic!

This idea of 'clean beauty' marketed by folks like Gwyneth Paltrow is just BS. The statement itself is problematic, as it implies the rest of the products in beauty are unclean, and everything that comes from nature is somehow just better for you, which simply isn't true. I wouldn't take skincare/health advice from anybody who uses the word 'toxic' to describe some sunscreens and suggests to only apply SPF to the high points of the face. :-/

Editing out the fluff as she said !! Yes, it is frustrating when I watch skincare videos and every person that shows what they use for skincare is full of so many steps. They have serum on top of serum, an essence, a toner, moisturizer, face oil, what is all this supposed to do if they are all layered ?! I have tried it because of the suggestions of skincare influencers and I dislike that type of routine. I now just stick to very minimal of a routine. I cannot find a benefit to so many products. If something gives you an adverse reaction than it is hard to know which of the 10 step routine is the product that caused it.

Organic ingredients like essential oils or rose water or aloe etc are great and most 'clean' skincare I've used also incorporate 'clean' synthetic ingredients (if necessary) as well to optimize the efficacy of the products- I always, always vet the ingredients myself and run it though ewg.org skin-deep database and stick to products that have all their ingredients rank no more than 2, I also do thorough research on the company and their ethics and integrity. I've noticed some of the 'clean' products marketed and sold as 'clean' will have mostly good, clean ranked ingredients but then they use nasty preservatives (that are usually synthetic and cheap) and or perfumes or other scents that can be dirty or toxic. You don't need to go to expensive board-certified dermatologists to get their recommendation on 'clean' products, they mostly pedal very expensive not so clean unscientifically proven products (if there were tests performed on the products, it was less than optimally designed tests that are not peer reviewed nor published) - educate & do the research yourself, go to ewg.org and find out why 'clean' ingredients are important to your health and the planets health and how these toxic ingredients that cause cancer, allergenic and can cause immune-deficiences lurk in our everyday products like laundry detergents, cleaners, and of course our toiletries and cosmetics - stay the heck away from perfumes, most all contain resins and silicones that are very toxic to you and the environment - keep in mind our skin is permeable, it absorbs what's on it and can carry toxic hormone mimicking ingredients to your blood-stream. Be vigilant and diligent b/c most companies only care about cutting costs and making money and lobbying the FDA and the government to not place regulations on 1400 cheap, toxic ingredients - if our health is negatively impacted due to these 'dirty' products, we're just collateral damage

The worst skin I ever had was AFTER going to a dermatologist. Several of them. Antibiotics, just say no. It screws with your digestion and that's really the root of most skin issues. I went to this one dermatologist (maybe the 4th one?) and, like this woman, she was young and very beautiful (more antibiotic stuff). A few yrs later I went back to her. I was stunned. Truly, she looked awful, nothing like her previous beauty. I'm thinking she drank a little too much of her own (Big Pharma) "kool-aid." Sad. For YEARS they (mainstream profiteers) have filled their products with cheap dangerous sh*t, without concern that it was greatly harming you. People, trust your own intuition, trust others that are truly worthy of your trust (be wary of profiteers and MSM that profits from them), experiment and learn how to take care of yourself. Use common sense, including learning the word "conflict-of-interest." Trusting yourself and experimenting is way less risky than trusting those who have dollar signs in their eyes. And see you as nothing more than a cash cow.
