Miss Spirituality you hit the nail on the head! Plus, what horrible, incentive questions! You could tell instantly that Smokey didn’t like her questions and then she just asked more stupid questions. I’m surprised Smokey didn’t interrupt her and put her in her place! Her questions like... “what did it feel like when...” His longest friendship in his life just ended a day ago and SHES trying to get typical idiot Hollywood sensationalized BS questions answered. Like you said, she didn’t even know that Aretha wasn’t a Motown singer. Then she stepped in it again like she didn’t hear his answer. STUPID STUPID STUPID interview and totally disrespectful.

I am 48 years old and listened to her all o lf my life and didn't know she had no connection with Motown. Is that all you got from this interview? I looked at the after video and what I took from it was the song that he heard her singing and playing on that piano was "never grow old" Nor did I know that they had known each other that long. Can we just celebrate her life and stop nit picking? geesh!

There will never be enough words or the music she wrote n sang to express the glance n respect she put in living a life. God gave us glory but only certain people like MLK could or Aretha could delivery it as message. Amen

Robin, you didn't do your homework, girl. Diana Ross was the queen of Motown. Aretha was with Columbia and then Arista. Motown was beneath her talent.
