The conservatives need to accept they lost not because of woke people, not because of young people, not because of poor people, immigrants, LGBT folk. They lost because they didn't meet the needs of the people and the country, they failed to boost economy, they failed to maintain people's living standards or at least mitigate harm from inflation, they failed to cut funding to the NHS which many elderly rely on. They have failed to create council housing, they were letting prisoners out early because they did not fund properly abd did not try rehabilitation poverty also drives crime. It's their decisions that lead to downfall they can't blame others. Had they mitigated cost of living by providing financial support to those struggling, price caps on energy bills created council housing years before. They'd be fine It's their fault stop blaming others

I like it also that Sunak agreed to bring about a PEACEFUL transition of power, something Donald Trump Sr DIDN'T do. Sunak walked peacefully to a sedan that would take him to Buckhingham Palace to concede to King Charles III that Sir Keir should get to, with UK Labour having been elected to a landslide, form government. Mr. Trump urged supporters to use violence on Capitol Hill just days before his 1st successor was to be sworn in and was DESERVEDLY impeached by the House of Representatives for having done that.

A message for Mr. Baker et. al. There's nothing more off putting than watching a sour loser. Perhaps a reflection of the lack of humility, integrity and honesty which put so many electors off from voting Tory. A tip, it's always best, when defeated to such a magnitude, to go away, think and learn from your mistakes.

Poster boy for all that they are, from everyone else's fault back to 1911, to I didn't want to win and I'm out of it. The monopoly board goes flying when he loses at home.😊

He wasn’t a sore loser. He said nothing negative about his opponent or the election process. He’s sore about the establishment of both parties that led voters to turn against both of them. For now they turned against Conservatives more, but Labour has lost plenty of support over the years too. The 2017 Corbyn Labour Party was more popular than this one.

@@theknightswhosay Can't disagree. However, for me, it all depends upon which metric one chooses when regarding action/outcome upon the basis of popularity. After all, what is 'popularity'? it is not a singular construct. I was looking at it from the perspective of the disdain Baker had of Osborne whilst failing to acknowledge he was, equally, if not more so, a reason for Britain's failure. All the best.
