For me it is obvious that we have lactase so that we can drink our mother's milk as babies. I don't expect that it's there for us to drink cows/sheep/goats milk as suggest. This is why rennet from a baby cows stomach is added to cheeses etc. Humans find it very hard to digest cheese without it. We are simply not adapted to drink cows' milk and rely on prolonging the bodys ability to produce the lactose that we produced as babies in an attempt to digest it. Furrher to this cows milk needs to be pasteurised so that we can drink it safely today. We are not capable of drinking milk safely without the bacterias being killed beforehand. This shows that we have not adapted our bodies to drink cows milk ourselves instead we have adapted the final product to be drinkable. Cow milk imparticular is far to rich for our bodies and carries germs that can kill us and make us sick, and I believe it also may cause many to have underlying health conditions. The huge rise in milk sensitivities and allergies proves all of this. Humans have made milk drinkable but even so it is still not entirly suitable for our bodies. People have also not been drinking milk over the time perod and in the quantities suggested here. The interesting background to milk drinking in the Uk; People have only been drinking cows' milk in the quantities that are consumed today since the 2nd World War. It was implemented by the UK government because food was short and it was introduced into primary schools at this point for the same reason. The government had to feed the nation quickly and cheaply so they introduce cows milk as the solustion. Before this cows milk drinking would have been in small quantities or more likely not at all. They would have more likely drunk goats milk and not cows which is more like human milk and digestible for humans anyway. Milk was considered for babies and not for adults, and they would gave goats milk to babies who could not feed from their mothers becuase it was the only option if a wet nurse could not be found. Hense the name Nanny Goat. There was a massive government drive to boost the consumtion of milk at this time and this included lots of advertising etc.. This led to the need for pasteurisation of milk being developed sometime shortly afterwards because people where becoming sick becuase of the bacteria in milk. Milk drinking carried serious health risk before pasteurisation and people simply could not drink it safely. I don't know about all cultures around the world but people in the Uk simply are not native to drinking cows milk and we can only do it safely if it is pasturised and rennet added to dairy products. This interview gives a false impression of the history of drinking milk and we know it simply can't be ture becuase we would not require the product to be adapted for us if we had adapted ourselves to drink it. Therfore, before assuming that people have always eaten the same diet as we do today and agreeing with this unsubstantiated opion as stated here I suggest that people do their research or at the very least think about it. It is all on Google if you look. Peoples diets have always been adapting and changing their idiets and there has been no consistent diet throughout history. Larege parts of the population never eat or only rarely meat for a large part of our history. We know this because meat was kept for the king and the rich. the mass population was simply to poor to aford it. It is wrong to project a false account of history in this video just to justify what we are doing today. Today high consumption of meat and milk is infact a completely new way to eat for our bodies and our bodies are becoming sick becuase of this. A Vegan diet is much closer to what your ancestors would have eaten unless you are from a very rich background. In short don't belive all you are told. We are being made sick to make others rich.

And to touch further on the topic, they form bonds with neighboring plants, they communicate with each other and they form underground networks and share resources with one another as well as protect one another and warn one another from foreign threats. mycorrhizal networks are extremely complex and one of the things plants communicate to one another in mycorrhizal network is warnings of pain and threats to their wellbeing. If you caused harm to a tree, it will communicate that harm to other plants in its mycorrhizal network to warn them of danger which will prompt those other plants to enable defense mechanisms.

There is one thing that has been in my mind that I don’t think most vegans take under consideration. Say the world did become vegans, and everyone stopped eating meat or producing meat. How will we be able to feed certain animals that are under our care who are carnivorous? Say a lion or a crocodile that needs meat in their diet to survive, how will we give them the meat if we have no meat to offer them in a vegan world? Do we butcher one animal to feed the one in our care, or do we just let it die? Most of the time a majority of the meat produced goes to domestic animals who are in Zoos, in the care of man, or even to feed dogs who need meat in their diet. And don’t get me started on morals, animals don’t have any they only have instinct. They’re not doing it because it’s morally justified. They’re doing it out of survival. The problem is most people will only be asking us to exchange one extreme for another. And let me be clear I have nothing against vegans or veganism you are perfectly entitled to eat whatever you see fit in relation to your own diet. I do, however, have a problem with people who do not afford me the same consideration, or others for that matter. That’s all I will say in the matter I wish you all the best.

You make a good point about needing to feed carnivorous animals. This has indeed been a point for vegans to think about. The answer is that, (and perhaps you have a moral issue with this too, and you may make a fair point regarding it), but the hope is that, from a vegan perspective, unless a zoo is for conservation purposes, they actually shouldn't exist, (vegans are generally against zoos), and where such establishments might be necessary, there are high hope for lab-grown meat, - which is real meat, but no animals are killed. This would perhaps be the most ethical of options.

@@heatherwoodley8244 but what if the animals body ends up rejecting the meat like what if they can’t stand it or what if something in there design because I’m not a scientist, I don’t know the full effects of what that stuff can do to certain animals but what if their bodies reject the lab grown meat because it’s not natural to their diet? But the fact remains eating meat, has nothing to do with morals or ethics we only eat to survive. We’re not killing them out of spite, nor without propagation we have to cause a level of damage for our survival. The same with vegans need to own that they do destroy land to grow their crops and sometimes cause casualties to rodents or smaller animals. For the record, I am not against vegans or veganism. I get that this is a viewpoint they care about it’s the you must have the same viewpoint as me that I don’t care about I don’t mind them wanting to be vegans as long as they don’t try to force it onto others. I've been to Vietnam and have eaten dog meat, actually taste better than any other meat. Also had rat and horse meat so there is plenty of options of different meats.
