In ireland a young garda, police man, told parents of a young victim deceased, who he had to guard over night, that he spoke to the victim and said he would not leave him, no matter how long it took. Respect.

I recall that, more than 60 years ago, when I was in training at Hendon Police College, an important part of that training was about “Tact and Diplomacy”; 100% impartiality, and respect in our dealings with members of the public. We were expected, for instance, to show that respect by standing at the kerbside and saluting any funeral cortège that happened to pass by, regardless of any knowledge we may have of the deceased’s ethnicity, character, or former criminal activity. It is difficult now, to see any signs of such basic human qualities within the Police today, and this should never be!

Watch channel 4 to catch a copper and then you will understand nothing ever happens to a copper. When you have the police investigating themselves you will not be surprised. One copper was given a final warning so he must already have been bad and the other had to talk to his boss and reflect on what he had done. Dream on they are a joke.

I’m old school but imo ‘personal mobile phones’ should be banned in certain jobs and/or seriously limited ....as a retired manager of people, mobile use in the workplace is a distraction from what you are ‘paid to do!’
