At 28:08 listening to Hari's interview it seems clear that the reason they chose Hari over Nihal Sarin is that Hari Krishna made it clear to the captain that he would have no qualms or objection to being left out. In the end he only played 3 games. You couldnt really do that with an up and coming ambitious player like Nihal.
