Blake Samson has decided to bring ‪@gcn‬ presenter Conor Dunne along with him to the Forest of Dean bike park to see if he can learn to jump! Conor is an ex-professional road rider with a lot of experience riding gravel, but he’s a complete beginner on a mountain bike. Hearing a championship level endurance athlete out of breath at the top of a small mountain bike climb makes me feel alot better about basically having a heart attack everytime I ride 🤣 Great Video!

Looks like I've got to learn how to jump now. Most of my previous mountain biking didn't involve jumps. Mainly because there was much to jump. Now my mountain bikes are more capable. I need to learn now. Conor has given me a reason to learn. Can't be out done by a roadie.

I’m so glad you showed that it CAN be broken down to the most basics of the required movements. I remember just a few years ago that the videos for jumps and drops were like 20 minutes of how-to-manual, how to just speed, how to……… and the videos were mind numbing. Keep it simple.

Nice one boys. Conor was doing some really nice jumps in there. That trail jump, he's going to nail that in a couple of goes. Blake is definitely the right guy to get him jumping. I would love to see them both doing gravel side by side once Blake has mended and Conor has some more jumps under his belt.

My big MTB goal this year is to learn how to jump. Like a proper jump, I've popped off some rollers or side hits, but a proper good size table, and eventually a gap.

On that fourth run though you can actually see him tuck and flatten out the bike over the first two table tops. forgot it after that but he is only learning. This is skills that Robbie McEwan had from his BMX days, and there were times where you saw him jumping traffic Island in The Tour

My 8 year old daughter smoked them on Verderer's dragon's tail when she was meant to be giving him instructions on where to pump and compress. Their legs and arms were shot on my eeb! We did get him doing 10 laps of the pump track and basics on weight transfer and cornering
