@@shinankoku2 Also other games kind of do the same thing but they do not charge for those rules or points cost with their apps. It's surprising how much BS GW fans love to take.

@@randomcast3183 for sure! Like, WoTC tried pulling some BS last year. In response, the whole fan base lost their fricking mind and cancelled DNDBeyond memberships in droves. WoTC *had to* pull back! I’d love to see the GW fan base do this at some point.

Jezzails have lost 6" of range and their +1 to hit when they don't move, the Skitterleap spell is now unlimited and Wither isn't, and the Corrupted Earth trait can now only be used on Pestilens not in combat, so there are at least a few significant changes from the Faction cards. Still worth downloading the PDF and going at it with a Sharpie. All we need now are the points and a better battle roster...

Really helpful as I already have the AOS 4th Skaven faction pack and was worried that they would be out of date already. Now don’t have to buy this unless I really want to, so yes yes.. very helpful thanks

And here was me expecting to see Gutter/Night runners (non-shield carrying clanrats) sometime down the line? I don’t play AoS but am back engineering these new figures into Warcry/Mordheim. Look like I’m going to have to perch on eBay for Skittershanks Clawpack☹️

I do get why they would want to keep the points out due to the living rulebook they seem to be going with but man it does seem like getting the Battletomes isn't really worth it anymore.

I don't mind if points aren't in the book, but at least have them available on review day.

Really happy with the plaguepack. Depending their points they will be your cheaper priest for verminous and pestilence that like to go wide. This is pretty big. Also moulder stuff! Having a new unit was sorely needed. It brings moulder more to the forefront. Including with amazing support from the rules such as menagerie. Ad a warp grinder on there with a stack of ogres and you will have lots of fun.

It's weird how they decided to include a foldout (a centerfold? however it's called) and then didn't put a 4-page picture there. Why make a foldout at all?

I feel like the points are sort of a "damned if I do, damned if I don't" situation - if GW do include them, people are unhappy that the points are 8 months outdated (because of how long it takes to print and distribute the books). I don't know how to fix this. I don't like how GW makes decisions and I hate the paywalled rules in the app. It would make the most sense to me, as a consumer that they should gather up all of their rules, points, and unit stats and put them on a easy to search page and on the app. But that would negate the need to print the physical books, because almost nobody would buy them. And also it would make people like our host here unhappy, because it means the game no longer "lives" in the physical realm (which I don't disagree with - I also don't like using my phone during the game. That's why I print all my info or write it in my notebook with a bunch of highlighters, which my regular opponent calls "remineacent of a middle-school girl's notebook". )

putting points in at least makes the book a more evergreen investment. The more separated rules are, the less replayable it is in the future.

The cards are smaller! I much prefer the bigger ones. I wonder if the Generals handbook will have points.

Do we have to just register a profile to get points? Or actually pay a monthly subscription to access them?

You make a profile and, following the same format as the 40K app, if you own the book and enter the code, you can make a single army list. If you don’t enter the book code you can add points but cannot view any of the profile information apart from the name of the unit. If you have a subscription, you can make multiple lists, but still need to own the book to enter the code to see any information about the units apart from their names.

I don't know if they're going to follow the same pattern because it's GW, but for 40k the points are available as pdf downloads for all factions, regardless if they're playing from the index or the codex/battletome (I think the pdfs get uploaded like a week later than the app points though, which sucks). I don't have a codex for my Chaos Space Mans* and I can get the points just fine. Eventually. * I have a 9th edition codex. The lore, such as it is**, hasn't changed much. ** seriously, both CSM and the Skaven are a bunch of murderous dips***s, but the Skaven are somehow _so_ much more entertaining. I, for one, blame Abaddon. (edited: spelling)
