Looking forward to you and Jay playing some games of this. I just pre-ordered it myself yesterday. I went hard on Wasteland Warfare and ordered a ton of stuff as it came out and was sort of disappointed with how fiddley it was. I like that there are rules for the factions from Wasteland Warfare to be used in this. Can finally paint all those Brotherhood of Steel minis I opened once then stuck on a shelf.

This looks really good. I know little about Fallout (I can't sustain interest in video/computer games for some reason) but it reminds me, in a good and nostalgic way of TSRs Gamma World (the original). It does fill the most important aspect of a starter set...two players can play, complete out of the box.

Awesome. You two are like kids on Christmas morning. This looks fun. I studied the Fallout WW product from a distance and it just seemed impenetrable and costly. This new game FF sounds like my cup of tea. I'm excited to hear about how flexible the sprues are. I'm surprised to hear you think you could build it all as one faction. I thought one side were wearing business suits?

That is an excellent starter box, and if this system rectifies my only complaint about Wasteland Warfare - the proprietary dice and rulers - then wow, so much the better! Being Modiphius the thing has to cost fully twice what it ought to, but hopefully I can catch it at a proper price at some point.

Zone Wars definitely passes the Christmas morning test. Plays right out of the box with quick fun ruleset.

@@worlds-in-conflict It's a very similar box set to FF, with similar cardboard terrain, dice, minis. Weird that we get 2 wasteland skirmish starters released at near same time. Always seems to be the way in this industry. Place a preorder with 401 Games for FF this morning. Surprised Mod didn't go with prebuilt minis for this box, like with the WW starter set.

Man, I was already wicked excited for this (Fallout dork here) but this makes me even happier. I love Wasteland Warfare, but after reading the quickstart rules for this game, I think I finally have a skirmish wargame I can easily teach my wife and some local friends. The contents of the box and the design of the game is extremely conducive to bringing people into the hobby. I even hope Modiphius makes more punch-out terrain; their stls are phenomenal but as someone without a 3D printer, I'd happily furnish out a game board with that terrain. Edit: Also, PLASTIC SPRUES WOOHOO! Man those things are jam-packed. Cannot wait.

I prefer the clutter of wasteland warfare. More clutter usually means more depth/customization of units and playstyles/strategies.

I finally got around to playing the Nuka-World DLC after watching the show, but the story (or lack thereof for good karma players) made me a little less interested in this particular corner of the Fallout world, unfortunately. The rules seem like good fun, though, so I'm curious to see how the game evolves. I have to thank you for your videos on Fighting Fantasy, by the way, I'm eagerly awaiting a box set of the first 8 Wizard reprints and I can't wait to visit the City of Thieves again!

Box Quality is always important. The minis look numerous and varied. What scale are they? Will they blend in to the Northstar ranges, or are they taller? The enthusiasm from Ash and Jay is infectious. The Multi-Camera set up certainly adds some variety to the unboxing.

This is me guessing here since I don't have THIS box on hand, but the rest of the Fallout miniature range is 32mm scale. That said, I feel like humanoids feel small in that scale since there are so many big creatures in this universe. They will likely stand taller though than Frostgrave/Stargrave/etc (And these models are supposed to be compatible with Wasteland Warfare and vice versa, so I'm guessing the scale is the same)

Besides being 32mm, the FWW mini range is realistically proportioned, so compared to regular 28mm minis, they are both taller and skinnier. Of course that is for humans. Many of the creatures would mix fine and even the powered armor units could be ok.

Ah sweet, this looks like so much more of an approachable game than Wasteland Warfare. Wasteland Warfare had some neat concepts that were buried under the weight of granularity and overly fiddly token system.

This looks very cool. It makes me think they need to a complete overhaul of the Fallout Wasteland Warfare for the reasons explained. FWW is just too unapproachable outside of the die-hard fans and veterans. Here's hoping that FWW 2nd Edition is on the horizon.
