It’s all about winning apparently and handling your time well is just another good part of ones armour as a strong chess player. I remember a certain Garry Kasparov with just ONE pawn facing an army of Karpov’s pieces in a game and Karpov’s flag fell. . . .Karpov was furious.

First it was Yasser Seirawan who after hanging out with Eric, started using four-letter words in his commentary. Now Naka is trash talking. Eric's having a bad influence on chess royalty. I love it.
@WhosFriedChickenIsit6 жыл бұрын
Shin Kansen Yasser's been doing that. You must not know the man lol. Naka also has always been a trash talker. He was much more subtle as a teenager though. He would make fun of you with slight comments.

My comment was a back-handed compliment of Eric, nothing to do with the others.

When I play, flagging is always down to the wire and I feel kind of bad if I come out on top. But Naka is up so much on time every game that I feel like it's fair to play for the flag. Strong play in short time needs to be rewarded.
@Hoobyj6 жыл бұрын
Time management is an integral part of speed chess, no reason to feel bad :p
@arsenalfanrichi6 жыл бұрын
I don't know, a lot of the time it doesn't come down to time management, it comes down to clearly drawn endings where one guy refuses a draw while both players have a similar amount of time, and then they just move back and forth faster and claim a win on time
@loganchancellor68046 жыл бұрын
@6:30 the king move was really clever as hansen most likely had his mouse hover over his king to recapture. the smile on naka's face, after the game.

I find it funny how seriously eric takes their games. whenever eric manages to beat Hikaru in a game which is not alot, he celebrates like crazy. When he lets victory slip, he takes out his frustrations and anger on his furniture. lol while hikaru plays for fun. lol

30:38 - oh gosh that is such a cool discovered attack on the Queen.
@joedorben35046 жыл бұрын
34:34 Does Kxh3 really not work? Looks like maybe Naka gets mated through Kxh3 g5 or Kxg3 Qg5, but I feel like there has to be some resource like f3 or Qd4 that keeps the advantage for Naka in that line. Seemed like that was just winning
@headholio6 жыл бұрын
At 30:43, Bxf3!! Great move. Check and attack on rook. If king takes, fxe4 with discovered check and white queen is lost! If king doesn't take bishop then white rook is lost.
