I mean whats the chance's this ever happening just crazy it did. Has this ever happened in a tournament before? 1st time ive ever seen it. I mean sure there's the 50 rule thing happening before but i doubt with a checkmate on the 51st move.

Hikaru when down time: “Time doesn’t matter, because with 10 second increment there’s plenty of time to think about how I can steamroll this kid” Hikaru when up on time: Time usage is CRUCIAL in these rapid tournaments and, being up three and a half minutes, I’m just gonna steamroll him”
@ExplodingSkull-n5y

I think its in his perspective. Hikaru can probably play with 1 second on the clock with 10 sec increment but the less experienced gms would find it hard
