It's a little suspicious, but lower rated players can have a lot more opening knowledge than they used to. Compare now to 20 years ago, and you'll see 1000 players with opening knowledge of certain openings equal to a 1600 back then. Especially if they learn in a slow time control and then try to play some blitz, so I'd want to see how many blitz games played he has
