At 6:50 Puzzle SOlution Nf5 If Black captures knight , then white captures Queen with Qxd5 If Black Queen tries to defend the e7 square , then white just captures Black queen to then deliver a Nxe7 mate. If Qc5+, then Be3 blocks the check If Qc7 moves back and tries to defend both Knight and Queen checkmate at e7, we can play Nh6+ and wherever black king moves Rf7 mate Thanks for the great video.
@Trevy073 жыл бұрын
For that quiz, Knight to f5 makes the most sense. Because the idea is to force the opponent to exchange Queens, but instead of doing the actual exchange, white simply takes the pawn on e7 which is checkmate.

Bishop e8 is the strongest, so now black has to defend with the other Bishop( bx e6), white then captures with the knight ( nxe6)Queen cannot take on d1 cos Bishop delivers the check mate) then if queen captures knight, we then attack blacks king with the Bishop ( bxf7), if queen takes Bishop, then Qd8 is a forced mate.

You should not rely on one tactic, especially one this specific that requires a very specific situation, I recomend you know the basics of the opening so that you know what to do in more situations, then if it is possible to execute this tactic you should do it. But you should have an idea of what to do if your opponent doesn't do what you want. If you havn't already I recomend that you study the sicilian (in this case the open sicilian) before you learn these traps.

I don't think the first (Ng4) variation is that losing for black. The knight exchange on c6 the author skipped as obviously losing material for black, is in fact not. It only leads to 1 pawn less for black as it can retake the bishop after the queen grabs the "free" knight, and white can't retake the bishop with the knight since it was lost in the exchange. We end up with 1 pawn less for black, and the white king is waaay more exposed, I would think it's actually black who has advantage here. This, and that knight protection is actually the most natural move I'd say. Nice tricks anyway!
@unanaranja8985 Жыл бұрын
No, none of the knights were lost in the exchange. But instead, you can cover with the knight, and after Kxc6, you trade queens and push the a-pawn (a6), if Ba4, Bd7 (there is no queen to capture your knight). If discovered check, axb5 or Bxb5

At 6:50 stop the video puzzle: I would start with bishop to c4 removing the queen from the d-file and then knight to f5 creating two mate threats. The black bishop ( or Queen) can give white a check blocking the open d-file and thus blocking one threat with tempo... thus there is a problem. White would sacrifice the bishop and loose the tempo when capturing the black piece. Still I see no better option. Where did he provide the answer?
@mcbomb74473 жыл бұрын
The move is Nf5. If black's g pawn or light square bishop takes the knight, white takes your queen for free. If black goes for the queen trade, Nxe7 is checkmate on the spot. If the black queen leaves the d file without check (like Qe6 to defend checkmate), Qd8 is chekmate for white. The last move for black against Nf5 that gets the queen out of immediate danger and still defends e7 is Qc5+. Then, white brings their dark square bishop back to e3 and black has no choice but to give up their queen for a minor piece or get instantly checkmated.
@invictus9976 Жыл бұрын
C4 doesn't work bc black bishop takes white knight on d4 check, then black queen takes white bishop on c4, black is up two pieces, game over. F5 is the answer.
