2:58 - why didn't Magnus push his b pawn to b5? Never thought that it mattered?
@Unknown-el1jy18 сағат бұрын
It loses I’m pretty sure it loses after b5 check white takes with pawn and now the only way to advance blacks pawn is to move the king to escort it which would put the king away form whites pawn allowing it to gain tempo and promote first

The queen vs pawn, if it is a bishop pawn it is a draw. King just moves into the corner, and you can't take the pawn because it will be stalemate.

i thought Staircase check/mate is like example Qa1 check, Kg8, Qa2 check, Kh8, Qb2..., Qb3..., Qc3..., Qc4 etc!
@DJEmirSantana9 сағат бұрын
I called the first one Rollin the rooks... but then I learned another way rather than moving to the other side of the board just connect the rooks they protect themselves and then the king has to move away on the next move.

@3.08 why is it a stalemate - why can’t black move his pawn forward - the 2 pawns on the b file ?
@smitakhosla271522 сағат бұрын
Cause it is white to play

In 3, Push passed pawn, Why did the White king has to come to support the Rook fromtake attack from the Black king? The white root was supported by a pawn, so black king won't be able to take it.
@minemaster28632 сағат бұрын
Because Black Rook just blocked the Pawn, Black King could just come to e6 and grab the pawn with the rook, if you dont bring your king, you will not make any progress
