I. Discussion - Mayor Wu - Not a Coffee Hour - Please join the Greater Mattapan Neighborhood Council (GMNC) for our Monthly Meeting via Zoom Virtual Meeting. This meeting will also be streamed live on Facebook. At this month's meeting, our first guest speaker is Mayor Michelle Wu. The discussion will focus on Greater Mattapan - Mattapan Square, Blue Hill Ave, Post PLAN: Mattapan & Zoning Approval, Environmental Issue and Boston Public Schools. This is not another coffee hour. This is a discussion on the big projects going on all around us. If we are not requiring that a cohesive system (health, education, housing, transportation, roads, employment and protection of open space) be built that encourages strategies that conserve natural resources (people and open space), does not displace current residents, protecting natural areas, and facilitating connections to the surrounding communities. This is our Boston; please join us in moving forward as a community.
II. Discussion - Mildred Ave Community Garden & Housing Parcels - Our second speakers are from GrowBoston and The Trustees of Reservations. They will be providing updates about the community garden section of the project. The 30-36 Mildred Ave will be developed by Norfolk Design & Construction in partnership with The Trustees of Reservations. When complete, the project will consist of one building with six affordable, for-sale homeownership units, and a community garden of approximately 7,000 square feet.
