Excellent tutorial GMod! I'd never thought of using props on the keel to correct roll, I'll have to try that. I usually have downward-facing props on each side. Your take on PIDs was a good primer, but it's pretty much FtD's version of dark magic - you fiddle with the sliders until it works about right. One note on stability: sometimes having a bit of instability is a _good_ thing... look at the Deepwater Guard's flying squirrel! For boats and gun platforms stable is good, but a missile boat or a flying craft might last longer if it's movements are a bit unpredictable. If you have the time and desire, I'd like to see your take on PIDs as it's own video. I have a basic understanding but I'm far from good. As far as I know, this is approximately what the functions do: P - "correct this hard" I - "amount of time to find the average value" D - "correct in this amount of time" Is that about right?

Hey! Roll on keels are very powerful if you got a long keel. While inaccuracy is added the more unstable you are for all crafts after a recent update I agree that stability is not even a good thing if you only have missiles, better to have it fly allover and it will never get shot down, but for boats better stability often leads to better tops speeds so boats are another pokemon here. Interesting idea to make a entire video about PIDs, but it is dark magic because there is just simple math behind those values it is hard to easily explain what does what as they all effect eachother, I feel the stock values nowdays are so good they rarely have to be too much fiddled with, but fun decoding you did there, not sure it is completely accurate tho but you might be entirely right IDK haha

Can a ship be stabilized with only rudder and forward propeller? Or at least without roll and pitch propellers?

Yes, with rudders/hydrofoils controlling roll and pitch

If i have a ship that's just sinking even with the gain at max what can i do? Should i just somehow cut the weight? Or should i find a way to put more volume and make it more buoyant?

So stability does not help with floating much: add upwards propellers or exchange metal and stone to wood or alloy and add waterpumps to make it float :)

Set them for roll/pitch and spread to neighbors, just like this

You can build a stable hydrofoil (or boat) by making a hydrodynamic shape with good weight/boyancy balance and a low center of mass. You shouldn't need active stability.
