if you know how to do vibrato, it becomes much easier to hit, since u can adjust the finger accordingly. i still struggle with it sometimes!

Yes as samael said you have to practice. I always pay attention to the pinky whenever i practice because i know it needs the most training. What can help is really training yourself with open strings. For me the pinky almost became a leader because i practiced it so much. And try to really feel, hear and see the position of it. You can also do a simple exercise in 2nd position whwre you stretch your hand from the II/4th to the I/1st finger switching between the notes to strengthen your Intonation.
