I like these strategy related videos. I would like to see more of them! I usually only use plague monks when I don't have enough points for clan rats. I am interested in running 3x units of plague monks instead of clan rats altogether and trying the Pestilens battle formation for science.

awesome video, i love the specific tricks you show with skaven, always great to see. also cant wait for your next battle report, i always learn alot on these. in addition, kind of a random question, but i dont know where else to ask you and i dont know anyone else to ask, but how do you manage a really shooting heavy list with skaven? im playing vs a friends that plays cities with basically just buffs and shooting, which is not a problem for my s2d or vampires but my rats always struggled, my important stuff gets shot off, my hammers cant get through the dwarfs with their 4+ ward fast enough, if i shoot them, i think they can still counter shoot so basically gifting them another shooting attack. i cant use my movement tricks because my opponent doesnt move at all, but i dont think i can just outscore him and waiting to get shot to pieces. or should i try to bog all of his stuff in a flood of clanrats? really unsure how to handle them now, especially since the deceiver lost his immunity to long range shooting and his own, second skitter leap.

Cities are one of the top armies right now, so that's a matchup where things are going to be tough no matter what. If they're running a big blob of 20 Fusiliers I'd probably go after them first with my list, just deepstrike your Jezzails, pop them out to get the first shot at them, and then just hope you kill enough to be impactful. The Deceiver is a pretty good tool at popping into combats you want as well.

@@warpfireminis thank you very much for the answer, i really appreciate it. i thought about which heroes to remove but killing the units they buff seems easier. he is running 2x20 fusiliers btw, (+ steam tank, 30 iron breakers and heroes) so i need my rat ogres to get the other block but i hope with power through i can get my orges through his lines to his gunline. guess it will come down to our dice rolls, i hope the great horned rat blesses me!

Nice advice! .. I have a question .. The Gnawhole models with the Wooden beams that extend past the Gnawhole edge... do they count as part of the gnawhole? This has been an question that comes up for me all the time. I have seen some rules somewhere that make me feel that the beams are considered for the rules, as in how far away units can be deployed etc.. and setting up units etc ... In a recent game, my opponent wanted to power through one of my units, but that would have ended up with the only possible positioning that his base (Big Mega-Gargant Base) was underneath an entire outstretched Gnawhole extending wooden-beam. Of course I thought that shouldn't be allowed, and I considered that part of the model size when placing my gnawhole and units .. but he compared it to being under the arm of his Gargant but outside of the base. Since you are on the topic of Gnawholes, I'm wondering what your thought is on this issue. Thank you!..and thanks for the nice video :)

Nice, quality video as always! I've used a gnawhole to score take their lands when I'm taking the first turn round 1 a couple of times, is there a reason not to do this assuming it doesn't set up a potential charge as you've pointed out?
@warpfireminis3 ай бұрын
Take Their Lands is a really easy one for us, so I usually save it for late game when things are tough!
@leetaylor54703 ай бұрын
I'm surprised he didn't mention how it lets you almost auto complete a battle tactic, take their land is almost impossible to fail, start of round place a gnawhole in enemy territory, chose take their land and pick the gnawhole...boom done.
@warpfireminis3 ай бұрын
That's one I definitely should have mentioned! Take Their Lands is usually an easy one late game, but even easier with the Gnawhole!

I wonder how many people click on a video with “Gnawhole” in the title expecting something completely different.

So it says specifically you need to be in combat to make that pile in move with the ruleset so I guess they changed it

how many times can you use a gnawhole per turn. like can more than one unit go through it?
@phoenix4ever3672 ай бұрын
Tunnel through reality would be the rule I am asking about. doesnt seem to have a per phase ability and no core words. So is it any number of units as long as they are within 6" and can fulfill the other rules on the other end of the gnawhole?
@888BlinkyАй бұрын
Do you think the pile in move without being in combat is intended or will it be fixed?
@warpfireminisАй бұрын
They fixed it in the new battletome, the pile-in is gone!

In the last edition of AoS there was a restriction on how many units can go through the gnawholes. Is that restriction still there? As far as I'm aware it's gone. Or am I just reading the words in my favor? 😂

Faction Terrain still follow the rule of one which was clarified in the recent FAQ/errata; so each Gnawhole can only teleport one unit.

Can you really return the plague monks ans then pile in ? I thought that since the unit is dead at the start of the end of the turn, you could not use the end of the turn ability.

It's only movement they can't do when they're set up right?
@warpfireminis3 ай бұрын
For the battle formation you pick the units at the end of the turn, which is the same timing as our recursion, so you just bring the unit back first and then pick it!

Correct, when a unit is set up it can't move in the movement phase, but can still charge or in this case pile-in!

Thanks to the new errata, factuon terrain cannot be targeted during charge phase anymore. No more stepping stone:)
@carlfromchicago69083 ай бұрын
I didn’t see that in the errata anywhere can you please point it out?
@awesomemusicstudio3 ай бұрын
@@carlfromchicago6908 I think what he means, is the latest Errata states "TERRAIN, 1.5 FACTION TERR AIN In the first bullet point, change ‘In the charge phase and the combat phase’ to ‘In the combat phase’" .. and that bullet point to change says " In the charge phase and the combat phase, they are treated as if they were units for the purposes of movement, combat range and being in combat. Units can finish a charge move within ½" of an enemy faction terrain feature as if it were a unit." It is a little confusing, changing the first sentence but not changing the last sentence. I can't really understand why the need to subtract 'in the charge phase' .. I believe he thinks the change implies that Faction Terrain cant be targeted. But I think it doesn't mean that, and faction terrain can still be targeted. But I'm unsure.
@martinmountford19813 ай бұрын
That's incorrect the rules state units can finish a charge move within 1/2 inch of a faction terrain as if it were a unit. Charges don't require you to target something before you roll the dice you roll the dice and then use the result to charge a legal target which faction terrain is.
@warpfireminis3 ай бұрын
As the other have already chimed in, you can still end a charge within 1/2" of faction terrain even with the new errata!
