Yeah, it can be a real surprise how quickly the smaller class ships can get turned around and flung right into the exclusion zone in a blink. I do a lot of deep space exploration and with the smaller ships it helps to aim further out towards the end of the jet just in case. Optimally you want to get good enough where you enter at just the right distance that the momentum carries you out the end of the jet just as the overcharge hits.

@MrMyu7 жыл бұрын
Mostly correct. (You want to be doing this travelling away from the star) Gently nose down into the cone. You don't want to hit it at a right angle, or it'll just kick you out again. Think of it like using an on-ramp to merge instead of a left or right turn at an intersection. The cone will kick you loose. It throws you around like you're being interdicted, and you don't really have control of when you get kicked out. Just make sure you drop in while flying away from the star so you don't get caught in its gravity while in the cone.

Theirs a easy way to do that.. When you enter the system after coming out of Hyperspace, set throttle to 0 INSTANTLY. Manouver your ship using the Docking thrusters and point the front of your ship towards the end of the corona/Tail of the Neutron star cone (Head away from Neutron Star). Gently head towards the tail at a slow speed and enter it. As soon as you enter it , KILL YOUR THROTTLE and wait for it to say " Frame Shift Drive , Supercharged " and then POWER out of it and head away from the Neutron star as quick as possible. BEWARE though sometimes the Neutron star will put you towards it from within the Tail when supercharging your FSD.

@IamBHM7 жыл бұрын
Matter compressed thirteen orders of magnitude more densely than ordinary solids + conservation of angular momentum + magnetic fields generated by charged particles packed absurdly close together and rotating insanely fast = pulsar beams are scary. As if the gravitational field around a neutron star wasn't powerful enough for you, they also get to shoot electromagnetic death-rays out both ends of their axis of rotation. And as if THAT wasn't bad enough, throw in the tendency of rotating objects to undergo precession and the death-rays turn into spiral death-cones spewing out both ends.
@kevinhammond23613 жыл бұрын
Since a Neutron Star is just *barely* smaller than the mass that would result in a black hole, they distort light to a noticeable level. The distortion is such that we can see *far side* of the neutron star (the part that for a lower gravity star would be obscured by it's physical horizon), from the observers point of view. It's like a much milder version of that crazy visual of the black hole in the movie Interstellar.

@MrMyu7 жыл бұрын
That's not the fault of the route, that's the fault of me: I had gone off the path a few hundred light years to check out an unexplored system that looked interesting on the map. The router only takes systems where the arrival star is a neutron star, so at most you're flying 10 LS. I saw this system, explored, realized I was in a good position to make a tutorial, and made a spur-of-the-moment decision to use the B star to get back on track.

@MsRmaclaren Жыл бұрын
Late to the party here. You need to carry an AFMU or two for repairing your jump engine, which will decrease your jump range. It gets damaged every jump and eventually it will be beyond repair. I took the neutron highway to Jaques Station first time years ago. By the time I found a fuel scoopable star and repaired using the AFMU I could have jumped 2 times and faster than the neutron highway. I never use that mode of transport at all more trouble that it is worth and I have jumped thousands of times without incident all the way to the rim and back. It is a good skill to know if you find yourself in trouble. I will reiterate AFMU AFMU.

How did you get a alternate AI voice in your ship?
@MrMyu7 жыл бұрын
First you need VoiceAttack. You can get that from Steam for around $11-12 USD, or you can get it from www.voiceattack.com for around $10 USD. After that, you need a voicepack from www.hcsvoicepacks.com. They're a company that makes custom ship AI voices recorded by William Shatner, Tom Baker, BRIAN BLESSED, etc. (I went with the ALIX interface) If HCS packs are a little more pricey than you'd like, you can find a few free packs here and there with some searching. Reddit, frontier's forums, etc. If you have a decent recording setup, or access to a sound library, you can make your own ship voice pack. I did a quick tutorial here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/r3jCnoaho8-docU One of these days I'm going to get around to making a Mister Torgue pack from the Borderlands 2 library they made available...

What you called the 'neutron highway' could be a saved route for your own personal navigation. Maybe one day in the future we could share navigational routes with friendly commanders.
@MrMyu7 жыл бұрын
We... kind of can right now. The neutron route planner here www.spansh.co.uk/ lets you link up specific route configurations. The problem with sharing routes with commanders is that no two ships are alike in mass, drive specs, etc. If you have a drive that's even half a light year off, some of these routes won't work. The best you can usually do is sharing point A to B and then letting individual ship navicomps handle the fine details.

There's so much to learn in this game but the community and the cooperatives tools on the internet are insane. Greatest community ever. I started playing this game like 2 month ago and i already have a fully kitted PvE Python and a T7 thanks to all the kind advices and shares like yours. Ty very much. O7

If you don't use 3rd party tools such as the route planner, it takes more time to charge and plan the route than it would take to make the extra jumps. This therefore would be used for longer distances where fuel is the issue. Too bad you cannot save the charge for a later jump, one where you actually need it.

Capt Grovesy Not only that but realistically your ship would be pulled apart with such force only molecules would stay connected at least we’re able to use them 😅

In reality, the neutron highway is not worth the effort. It actually takes longer than jumping normally, and i have spent over 1000hr's in the game. If you have a well spec'd engineered FSD, mine jumps around 60ly. The time it takes to travel to each neutron star doesn't make up for the distance gained, as the neutron stars are not always lined up like this, in fact most of the time you have to deviated 3-6 jumps to get to the next star and seeing that I can jump up to 60ly, it can work out to be well over 250ly just to get to the next point in the neutron highway, which usually takes you way of your plotted course and you end up going backwards in some cases just to get to the next sequence.

My recent trip to Beagle Point, some numbers: Sol to Beagle: 65,275.39 light years. 520 jumps. Average 125.39 light years/jump. 10 hours. Beagle to Narvert: 82,850.59 light years. 568 jumps. Average 145.86 light years/jump. 18 hours including planetary surveys, exploration, landing, stupid spaceship tricks on the other side of the galaxy, and answering questions about the neutron highway.

I take it this is back when you had to equip exploration equipment to your ships if you wanted to scan star systems? Before they combined that kit with the DSS.

I also noticed the smaller your ship is the bigger the exclusion zone i.e you can get kicked out of supercruise much easier.

I didn't know about this but its pretty cool. I would say from a game-play mechanic perspective, it would make more sense to have to press the hyperspace while caught up in the jet to get the benefit. Seems a but weird to be able to make the jump after you leave the jet.
@bigoljoe18297 жыл бұрын
Don't think of it as the jet actually propelling you (because its not). Think of it as being bathed in vast amounts of energy and a large amount of power being forced to your FSD and overcharging it, enabling a longer jump. Your FSD is still doing the propulsion. The jets are "merely" a source of extra power, rather than propulsion. Hence the reason the starting jump range of your FSD being a determining factor in how far this will actually get you.MrMyu's ship has a starting range of over 60ly. You're not getting a 250ly jump out of a 20ly capable FSD.

@MrMyu7 жыл бұрын
Ouch. Was it a neutron star or a white dwarf? WDs have a lot less room to maneuver around the gravity step, and the jets just barely extend out of the drop sphere. It's strange, given that WDs give /less/ benefit for more risk.

Make sure you have a fuel scoop and the module is turned on... Ask me how I know this.

Coming back to these now and I'm still quite green. So what exactly does a supercharged jump change from a regular jump? Do they allow you to make jumps to far more distant points, or just use up far less fuel to get to the same point?
@MrMyu2 жыл бұрын
Both. It makes your drive super-efficient for one jump, so you can jump 4x normal range, or make a normal jump and it just sips from the fuel tank instead of a big gulp. I have an explorer with a 70 light year jump, and one super-jump can get me up to 280 LY in one go.
@an_ordinary_goose2 жыл бұрын
@@MrMyu I'm keeping my travels pretty close by - I had a bad run some years back which saw me almost dead in the water with no fuel or ammo. I'll probably attempt this at some point if I really want to get around, but how do you know exactly how far you can actually jump to with a boosted FSD? I imagine it's not as simple as the push of a button and takes some number crunching.
@youarenotspecial2 жыл бұрын
@@an_ordinary_goose if you go to the right panel in your ship and go to the ship one, goto the statistics tab and it will show your current boosted range. also be very careful with some as the zone is very close and sometimes can kill you.
