Honestly, I don't know what i would do without your channel at the moment. Just got my mini 3 Pro, you have all the answers and more! Only problem is, you are showing me things it can do and extra accessories that are available and i'm spending more money. I just hope the wife doesn't go through my watch history!! 🙂 Thanks for the Pro content. 👌

Matt, would you take the VND/Mist filters or a set of ND/CPL for your mini 3 pro?
@MACDRONEPRODUTORA Жыл бұрын
Great video as always. I bought the VND filters. 1. Did you notice vignetting? 2. What situations the are not recommended? 3. If I have just the VND filters can I ease or compensate the mist effects in post? Thanks a lot.

The only bad thing about this video is, that I'm going to spend more on those filters now. 😂😁😔 Very fine explanation as always! Massive like.

The ND1000 and ND2000 filters are not only good for long exposure photography, but also very good for time lapse recordings, which also are usually taken with rather long exposure times. The quicker you want the time lapse to be the stronger of an ND filter you'd likely want to use.

Freewell have the VND's without the Mist option on their site, for me these would be ideal, can't see them on Amazon yet though.

Hi, I’m struggling with buying ND filters specially because of the idea of switching filters and turning of the drone of, my question is: how good are VND?

Hi Matthew! I’m wondering what is the best filter to use for filming in direct sunlight or in a bright sunny day? Thanks
@TheDroneCreative2 жыл бұрын
Hey! For this you will want to use either a ND or ND/PL filter! Hope that helps!

I’m going to buy VND. Is it ideal to get regular VND. And a mist VND if you want mist? Or will getting the VND meet both needs? I’m just worried if I come a crepe a scenario where I don’t want a lot of mist. But need the VND.

Hi Mattheww, I’m just looking for a plain VND filter upto 128 or 256 for the mini 3. (If it has polarisation that’s okay.) Do freewell do something like that? I can’t find one. Thanks, love your videos, Ger

Matthew, thanks for the great summary of these very interesting filters. I had a question on the GND filters, what does the 0.9 and 1.2 mean on the 2 different filters. Thanks again!
@TheDroneCreative2 жыл бұрын
Thank you, hope it helps! 0.9 means 3 stops, so the difference between the clear part and the dark part is 3 stops. 1.2 is 4 stops darker.

Great video. I really like the variable ND filters. When I get my Mini 3 those are what I will go for. The thing about these filters is that we want them all and spend tons on our hobby! Thanks, I learned something new :)

Being able to shoot in raw with the more expanded dynamic range with the Mini 3 Pro means that a GND is not that necessary for photography. Although for cinematography it could be really useful and some cinematographers actually did use GND filters. Mist filters on an image that sometimes feels a bit oversharpened would be really nice.

Hey Matt, quick question. Would you be able to make a guide on best camera settings for Avata? Like a detailed tutorial for newbies like me that explains when to use high iso, low iso, different exposure etc. and also best gimbal angle for different type of scenarios? 😊

Hey, Mr @Mattheww :) Didn't you compare the quality of simple ND filters with VND? There's an opinion that VND technology gives more comfort but takes quality for that - it produces ugly vignetting effect. They say that, for example, left top and bottom right corners are dark but others are not. Did you notice this with your experience?

Do you shoot photos in auto with the same ND filter you’d use for video in pro?

I just got the Freewell Bright Day set and they're going right back. They top at ND64 and that's not even close to enough for the Mini 3 Pro. It's ridiculous that they call them "Bright Day". Also, I tested the polarizer on them on glass reflections around my house. The markings seem to be opposite. The V setting works best in horizontal and H works best in vertical mode. Weird. I'll go for stronger filters, do you find the color cast and the "X" effect to be bad on these VNDs? I don't know if I should just go for simple 128 and 256 NDs or I should get a VND.
@leadsled2132 жыл бұрын
After the latest firmware update, have you received the "Wide-angle lens attached" and " Wide-angle lens attached. Unable to shoot in Pano" messages? I only have a JSR ND32-PL filter and receive these messages. Other people on FB have reported getting the same message. I am now wary of ordering a full filter kit.

love the channel. but long exposures on a drone? nope. unless its on a tripod, there is no usage in these.
@TheDroneCreative2 жыл бұрын
They do work and you get good results, but you do have to take several photos with the expectation of getting 1 good one as some can come out blurry due to the drone moving around.
