There is nothing wrong with going back to old movies of the 40s-50s....Serenade/Mario Lanza (weird watching a total emotional breakdown) many of those movies really seem like time is a re-run.

I've seen very few movies from this century. Never go near franchises. Movies from the thirties through the sixties for me, with a few exceptions, like Back to the Future and Donnie Darko.

Many of the bankable stars were put on airplanes, getting several killed, (Leslie Howard/Ashley GWTW, for one). But there are still old gems that allow actors to emote their true feelings..for which many got punished. (Mario Lanza, Tyrone Power, Errol Flynn, Judy Garland to name a few.) Then there was "Laurel Canyon's Lone Peak base..
