Great musicians that care about their fans put aside ego. Axel knows his voice is gone. Hell it’s obvious. He could call it a day or deny it but he brings in a great voice to still get the songs requiring high notes sung live. That’s awesome. And Carrie always kills it.

Axl found out how good Carrie is. He sang with Carrie at Stagecoach festival, which is country. Carrie wasn't making up for his low vocals. Carrie was surprised by his comment. Carrie said she doesn't want to replace Axl. It was her chance to perform with G&R and took it.

I'm a huge fan of Carrie Underwood and she is a huge fan of Axl as well as others. She is inspired and GNR Axl Rose 🌹 ✨️ fan. I love the bands from 70's - 80's. Awesome when talented artists can collaborate and sing together ❤️ I'm sure enjoying Carrie Underwood and GNR!!! Awesome

Remember the reason this happened is that Axl invited Carrie to be opening act for G&R. And Carrie wasn't going to pass it up. Yes, I know, a lot of G&R fans weren't thrilled with Carrie being the opening act. And Carrie was well aware of the fact that some fans didn't want her. I think Carrie surprise some fans. You could tell the fans were wondering is this the same Carrie which was on American Idol. Carrie answered that question by doing "Alone".

You know critics wanted this to be a disaster for Carrie and it was the exact opposite. Carrie slide in and G&R had no problem with Carrie. And Axl used Carrie's power to enhance the song.
