I agree with her presentation going barefoot is wonderful, I wish it didn’t take me 70 years to discover this. Since it’s been ten years since this was given I wish she would give an update. Hope you have been enjoying wearing just your feet the past ten years.

I think it's crazy that people are still watching and commenting on my video to this day! I'm not big on making and posting videos, but here's my update: I still go barefoot as much as reasonably possible for me, and I still fully believe in the benefits (and have observed them). I'm an RN now, which is a job that unfortunately requires shoes (for the same reason we wear gloves). And I kinda gave up going barefoot outdoors in the snow, but otherwise, I've kept it up! I have scoliosis, and the proper body alignment from being barefoot helps a lot. It's also still amazing to feel all the different textures of the ground while hiking barefoot!

@@juliantoussaint816 I love going barefoot, too, as much as possible. I primarily wear sandals and always slip them off when I get the chance. At friends houses, parks, etc. I mostly wear my Birkenstocks, but do you think I should ditch them and start going barefoot as you do?

Very good research and presentation. It's a shame that we are so accustomed to wearing shoes that the thought of someone going barefoot gives many thoughts of disparaging remarks, unfounded fears, and misguided anger (as can be witnessed in at least one comment below). I'd like to add that the raised heel is also detrimental to natural skeletal alignment as a whole too, not just the arch itself, and that the purposefully laid in curve at the toe of the shoe, while helping with propulsion, does little else to be beneficial yet greatly impacts one of nature's most highly engineered foundations. Congratulations on a well done speech!

You yourself has been blessed with beautiful shapy and strong looking barefeet, typical of a regular barefooter. It's really amazing how beautiful your feet and soles grow when they're allowed free movement. Don't cage your feet inside these miserable thing called footwear, they're nothing but torture houses or should I say Coffins to your innocent feet and soles. Start from home,be barefoot inside the house and then gradually extend it to your garden. Be barefoot always when you're at home. Inside the house as well as in your garden. Believe me,your feet and soles are going to love this amazing feeling. Go barefoot for good health and happy feet !!!

Songmorning I share your hope about a world more accepting of barefooters. I'm fortunate enough to have grown up at a time when going barefoot was popular with young people and it's heartening to see a young person like you re-affirming the joy and beauty of that experience. I hope you've succeeded in winning some converts to the "marvelous adventure of going barefoot." I also hope you are still delivering lectures on the subject and working against the current mindset that goes against nature. If you are delivering other speeches on barefooting I would encourage you to post them here as well. You certainly have fans here and contrary to what someone wrote in one of the replies, wearing shoes may be looked upon as another bad habit.

The content of your talk is also excellent. I particularly liked your introduction - a bit of hyperbole to get your audience listening is always useful! :-)

Great lecture!! When I was a kid, most all kids went barefooted. A lot of adults did, too!! That began to subside in the mid to late 1970's, right about the time that Adidas hit the market. By the early 1980's, the hippie baby boomers of the 1960's had become the Yuppies of the 1980's, and barefoot'n in public was becoming taboo. It's wonderful that we have people advocating the health benefits of going barefoot, but it's sad that we've become such an anti-barefoot society.

🔴 Wonderful speech ❗ I know about the benefits of walking barefoot, because I don't like to wear shoes. Bare feet are happy feet. In fact, humans have evolved barefoot and the feet are well-equipped to handle any problems they might encounter on the ground. Aside from accidentally stepping onto something that might be painful (e.g. a Lego) you’ll be fine. In fact, it’s much healthier to go barefoot, than to let your foot sweat inside your shoe, creating a dark, damp and warm environment, perfect for the growth of bacteria and fungi. Aside from that, your average modern shoe is too narrow for the human foot, meaning it will compress and eventually deform your foot causing all kinds of issues. “Going barefoot is the gentlest way of walking and can symbolise a way of living - being authentic, vulnerable, sensitive to our surroundings. It’s the feeling of enjoying warm sand beneath our toes, or carefully making our way over sharp rocks in the darkness. It’s a way of living that has the lightest impact, removing the barrier between us and nature".- Adele Coombs, “Barefoot Dreaming”😊 - I wish you all the best, with strong health and happiness, in quite and peace 🕊! Sincerely, Dinu, 63, barefoot hiker from Romania... 🦶🏼🦶🏼🌲🌲🌲🌄 P.S. And "Forget not that the earth delights to feel your bare feet and the winds long to play with your hair." - Kahlil Gibran ~ Thank you 👍🏻

🔴Well... the presentation (theoretical part) is good. Then comes the practical part: walking barefoot outside, in nature ... so in public. When was the last time you went barefoot around your town, shopping for example? On the bus ... in the park ... through the mountains, etc. Is this something harder (or not)? That is, to apply the theoretical part. Otherwise it's just a beautiful story ! 🏢🏬🚞🏛🌲🌲🌲 🦶🏼🦶🏼☺🌄
