Kubrick would have been proud of this one. Such a brilliant film from all sides.

The best parts of these behind the scenes are with Amy Adams.

This is an incredible movie... I saw it twice to get all the content - tough movie, kind of boring in the beginning, but once you get it, you go - wow! As I studied linguistics in college, a lot of what the scientists are saying makes a lot of sense. They only missed an opportunity to talk about the translation mistake that led to the atomic bombs in Japan during WWII. The Universal Language looks real - great job by the language folks... wow...

There must be a fantastic version of this somewhere, where every clip isn't cut after 5 seconds 😔

Isn't the fact that most of the crew speaks French a wonderful thing, considering the theme of the movie?

this isnt the first time ive seen behind the scenes like this -- why is every clip like 2 seconds long?

it's called a B-roll. It's mostly cuts from pre-shooting or technical adjustments made after a certin take in order to improve the next one. It can also be rehersal bites or sound testing. Anything that doesn't make it to the final cut of the *on-screen* material and would probabley make its way into the post production reel that the editor would recive so he can learn from it too. It's saved for technical reasons and isn't meant for public viewing. More because it's boring if you don't understand the spoken codes than anything else really.

I guess it was done that way so the white reflection on the actors was real, it looks quite better.

Hmm. I think passengers (SCi-Fi) needs to switch genres with arrival (drama)
@tuttt997 жыл бұрын
Arrival IS Sci-fi. In a way that most of what is presented as sci-fi is not
@Lyallart7 жыл бұрын
tuttt99 yeah but the main genre of arrival was drama. While passengers was scifi even tho passengers had no science
@Gatran111 ай бұрын
The main theme of Arrival is a fictional endeavour into linguistics which is a science. That makes it more sci-fi than Passengers which is basically a romantic comedy@@Lyallart

In March 2016, I had been recently employed at a Walmart SuperCenter in West Sacramento, California. I had been informed that I needed to go to the back Office because I had to have some information input into their computer but not to worry there would be someone there to help. If no one is there when you arrive, just wait that person will be there soon. I met a friendly female who’s name I didn’t recall hearing as entering the Office. We eventually completed the task as she was fast typing on the keyboard and I commented on that. I remember looking at her at one point and thought that she looked vaguely familiar and I was trying to scan my memory for where we may have possibly met , when she asked me why I was looking at her like that and was there something wrong. To which I replied by saying that nothing was wrong and that I was just trying to remember if and possibly where we had met before. I watched her walking in the opposite direction away from after we’d left the Office. I noticed that she had a familiar walk and ponytail swinging a certain way with her walk. For some reason I thought “ Charlie Wilson’s War”. But, I decided that I would wait and the answer would make itself known. A day or so later, I was at my assigned register and I noticed that she was talking with Christine, my C.S.S. I overheard her saying that she would be completing her work there and would be leaving soon. She had also said that she had another assignment and that it could not have come at a better time because people there were starting to recognize her. That’s when I knew who she was/ is : Amy Adams. ( At first I didn’t know why she would be concerned about someone knowing who she is; however, after recollecting my Drama class days and having had to go behind the stage at City College in search of someone I thought,” OK, OK, I reminded myself that that’s the work she does and she might have thought that I would have been a “ Lucy “and would have been all over her for an autograph or something. But, No, I am one individual who’s behavior is not like that. ) So, I would like to say, “ Hello, Amy; I enjoyed meeting you and I very much enjoyed our pleasant conversation. And, if you were able to read this comment, we both now know why I was trying to recall my memory placement of you. I have both movies,” Charlie Wilson’s War “( I met Charlie at a nightclub in Texas where I once worked.) and “ Enchanted “ . I saw “ Arrival “ with the man I am Caregiver to. He is big on going to the movies and I have seen lots of them with him. I think you are a very nice and congenial person. Please don’t be afraid to think of writing your own script for the general population when you’re working elsewhere, especially if you want to conceal your identity which I completely understand, it can only assist your acting abilities and your confidence. ) Thank you so Very much for the pleasurable opportunity of our having been able to make each other’s acquaintance. Lots of Love in Christ ✝️✨ 2:57 I would also like to extend my thanks to those who’ve allowed me to leave my decent comment. 2:57
