Thank you for explaining your step by step thought process, and specifically describing the behavior of the car as you go through the changes in set up. This video was very informative, enlightening, and relatable. While you're on a roll, a part two called "Go faster on smooth, low grip, dusty tracks" would be incredibly helpful! Thanks again for sharing your knowledge 🙏

I notice the rear bushing little dot up inside what does that do for the buggy. I would love to see video on roll center/ anti squat for the buggy
@RyanLutz10 ай бұрын
The 2.5 with dot towards outside is 2.5 toe. The 2.5 with dot towards inside is 3.5 toe. The 3.5 insert is opposite. The 3 insert doesn’t matter, it stays 3 inside or outside. The small dot towards up is lower D block pin position (lower roll center). The small dot down is higher D block position (higher roll center) I will work on that video over the next month. Stay tuned.

@@SpikeydelicAwesome. What would you suggest as the best system for trying to do FPV on an off-road buggy? From what I've seen and heard, GoPro stability and FPV zero latency still haven't met. Which FPV system has the best stability of picture for all the jarring the off-road cars will give them?
@Spikeydelic10 ай бұрын
@@RyanLutz well, it's been a year or twoo, so at this point I have no clue what's out there on the market. I don't think you will get a stabilized fpv setup anywhere. At least not lowlatency enough for what we do with it.

Watched it now! That was really informing about the diff-gears! Thinking about clutch Bell size on high grip? Is it only for high speed tracks you go up or also grip?
@RyanLutzАй бұрын
Mostly consider it for track size.
@brianlackie50936 ай бұрын
A lighter oil will actually slow the suspension reaction down. Things happen quicker with a heavier oil because less roll. With lighter oil there's more give so the steering inputs are more delayed, guys get it backwards. I like to run a stff spring and sway bar but a lighter shock oil on high bite so car isn't so twitchy

Love the simple explanation that was just right. To touch on speed in the corners I tend not to use the front brake on my mp9 tki4 is there a difference without the front brake?
@RyanLutz10 ай бұрын
Stability under braking is very much altered when using no front brake. I used to in truggy use minimal front brake to get a quick snap Rotation in corners. But now I’m usually 50/50 most of the time.

What diff ratio do I need to fix me driving off the track all the time???? JK... I don't really think the concepts in this video are beginner concepts
@roberttannenbaum677910 ай бұрын
So when the grip is higher go up in diffs oils when using 10/20 gears
@RyanLutz10 ай бұрын
Irregardless of what gears you are running, if grip gets higher, go up in diff oils. You just have to go even more extreme of running the 12/18s.

How do you I unglue tyres
@RyanLutz10 ай бұрын
You can place it in bucket of Acetone if you are trying to reuse wheels. Let sit in it about 2 days.
@chrispowell992710 ай бұрын
Also, if you wanted to scale down the diffs from the ebuggy 30k, 20k, 20k but keep the same balance for the green track, what would you have started with? The same 7k, 20k (7k feel), 3k nitro? Any happy medium for those of us not as heavy on the throttle?
@RyanLutz10 ай бұрын
Yes would have been same as the nitro. If you didn’t want to go as high, even a 15, 15, 10(or7) would be a good adjustment.
@kahmed732810 ай бұрын
Fascinating! You almost need an engineering degree for this stuff.
@RyanLutz10 ай бұрын
Many of the designers of the cars do have that degree of course. These cars are capable of as many if not more perhaps, set-up adjustments than their full size counterparts. There is a lot that goes into racing these cars. 😁 Thanks for watching and the comment! 👍🏼

Is it true that the kyosho has less traction compared to other cars?
@RyanLutz10 ай бұрын
Not at all. I actually think the Kyosho makes more traction than most others and I have to get rid of some more often as grip comes up.
