I’ve been playing guitar for over 15 years. I’ve watched almost every “big teacher” on KZbin over the years, and you sir, are hands down the best at putting the techniques into a language that’s easy to understand. While others make me think “what did they just say” your videos make say “that makes sense.”

This is a great lesson! I’ve heard countless songs that employ each of these skills, and I’ve always wondered how I could use those same skills in my playing. Now I know thanks to the clarity of your intelligent, skill building, sequential approach. You make it look so easy and effortless, and my goal is to do the same. I know chords, but I don’t know the connecting notes. Your lesson has unravelled that mystery for me. No one has ever explained this as effectively as you have. This is the best 14 minutes that I’ve spent on KZbin. Thank you so much, and yes, I am a subscriber.

I just started playing the guitar about 2 years ago. I play the piano and can read music but have become very interested in the guitar. It's been in my household all my life. Oldest brother, dad, uncles....but I did not take to it until now. I am so in to it today after two years of lessons. Learned a lot so far from my teacher but you have a great way of teaching. I am going to continue looking at these vids to see how much I can learn from you. I need to get better at reading the music for guitar. Learning the fret board is going to be key I think for me. And soloing....well that's where I am weak for sure. You are making it easy Sir! Thank you!

I used to play by ear and found out years latter that those notes that sounded so sweet were the ones I was walking in the pentatonic scale. I learned if someone takes the time to learn all 5 pentatonic patterns then you can walk them into your basic strumming and bring the two worlds together for an entire universe of rich melodic frontiers , Hendrix was right you don't need to know notes names ect, but having the pentatonic patterns/scales makes it soooooo much easier. Thanks man a light came one in my brain thanks to you for sharing your knowledge for free to the masses

I just have to say this is the first time I've ever listened to this type of music. When I was a kid and first started listening to the music it was back in the 70s but I heard Kiss rock and roll all over and I followed that type of music all the way to the 80 hair bands. But as I got older I started listening and watching other music and stuff and I must say, out of all the music I have been listening to other than what I always liked, I'm really digging this style of music. I'm usually I guess a rhythm player I've been learning all my own now for about five years..thanks✌

This is a very needed lesson for most young players starting out and you open the video with a great example of how to do it. Also, playing a single strum and then continuing the melody off the root note of that first strum chord is a great way to get a pro guitar effect. Mixing chords into the melody is a good way to look at it maybe. Like playing a solo and landing on chords here and there. Great lesson and I haven't even watched it yet.
