@kerry0010
@kerry0010 8 жыл бұрын
scotcheggable Yes he did say something stupid. Saying "I actually *statement*" in this way, means that you are doing something that is against expectation. But no one assumes that he didn't like the song, so to say that "I actually did like it" is useless and stupid. Saying something like "I actually do think Hitler had a point" Makes sense because it is expected that you would be against Hitler, so to say actually at the front defies common expectation and is used correctly here. Or even saying "I actually liked batman Vs Superman" Makes sense because it is a common understanding that people as a whole did not enjoy the movie Does that make sense to you?

Lonely Island makes brilliant songs and I don't mean the obvious satirical nature of the lyrics, but the overall musical construction of the song is something to be greatly impressed by. The beat, the timing, the transitions from verse to chorus, everything is top-notch music production. It's just an incredibly well made song, with a hilarious commentary on the club scene as a wonderful addition.
@darkinwolff
@darkinwolff 11 жыл бұрын
I think the best part of it, whether it was intentional or not, is the fact that it kind of plays on the public accusation of the influence of music. The misconception that you are what you listen to is a joke. People don't do things because music tell them to -.- Just like video games don't make killers.
@RacialDialTone

It seems more to play to the idea that people will blindly follow pop culture, no matter how ridiculous it is, seemingly giving up all responsibility in the process. The notion that media can control people is preposterous, but people believe it anyway and claim they're not responsible for their actions if they follow popular trends, which is what GO KINDERGARTEN appears to be addressing. The concept is further parodied in YOLO, but with an irony rather than extreme examples, though the majority of The Lonely Island's catalog satirizes pop culture as a whole in some way or another.

Wrong. Mostly posts like this are a cheap way for the poster to feel superior. Sure; this song's funny because there is a bit of truth in it. Its NOT modern. People are swayed by catchy words. But ONLY if they already WANT to do it inside. Easier in a group, which makes evolutionary sense. Safer to be brave in a mob. This generation is fairly fractious.

Lollipopfop I'm not gonna lie, I might feel in some way superior, but should I not? Either way, it points out how stupid everyone is. Whether they are being told to do it, or they already want to do such stupid acts, both point to lack of intelligence.
@seanla558

you can not assume that everyone in this generation is retarded. I perhaps would view myself as a reasonable teen. Yes I've seen kids in my school who do things that are insanely stupid and in a few years will probably regret it. Through social media and T.V people have seen my generation as horrible and idiotic, but that is not inherently the truth because what gets noticed the most n social media are the bad things. Those bad things have stuck on to our generation like parasites. Then you have the good kids of our generation. We stay in school. We do what we know will bring us a happy future and a prosperous one. They go unnoticed because in todays world that's not exciting. Today most people don't pay attention to the worlds future, but to people who are insanely stupid like Miley Cyrus.
