3:18 The side bars are upside down. The "keyholes" should be at the top. If bolt on the item you have attached comes loose it can fall out with the hole at the bottom. If the hole is at the top, the bolt can slide down but it can't fall out of the track. I just pick up a used one and cut it down in width to fit my overland trailer. As for the plastic ends on the bars, I think that if they rate them for 300 dynamic and 600 static load, they must have done some testing? I hear Go Rhino's after-purchase care is pretty good. Let everyone know if you every break one!

With the quick disconnects you will be just fine clearing the roof I believe, I had to use spacers to get it over the soft top though! With out the disconnects I think you would contact the hardtop, but I'm not positive! Hope that helps!

My big thing with these racks is you need to be able to fit the tonneau covers. I would hate leaving my gear in the truck when I leave it. I really like this rack though. Love the side out fold table.
@Overlanderoos2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. A couple other companies offer comparability with the cover as well as a softopper option which looks pretty dope. A decked system is another option, but I think I'm going to make a custom sized canvas tarp that will at least protect it somewhat from the elements. Rack is holding up great though!

I am a see it type person and looking at it, seems like it should be a good option for me. I also have the CVT tent, Wanted to ask your thoughts. Do you think that I would have the same roof problems if I have a hard top? I want to eventually buy a large 5-6 person tent for the family and will need to have it hang over the front. I'm debating between this and the Yahima HD Overhaul since the Yakima gives me a ton more flexibility since it's adjustable and could possibly fit a tonneau cover (if I can find one with t-slot later). Sadly, it doesn't look as cool. What are you thoughts?
@Overlanderoos3 жыл бұрын
I think you would be fine. I can take actual measurements for you if you would like. We have the CVT Mt. Denali. its 86.5 inches in length. we have just recently centered it on the jeep better and have figured out the obnoxious buffeting it was causing. I really honestly think you would be fine with a hardtop but I cant say for sure as I do not have one. Let me know I can send some measurements your way to confirm if you would like! JCR also makes a rack that is compatible with a Softopper that looks pretty cool as well. The more time I spend with this rack the more I like it, its a great option! I am! It's holding up surprisingly well! It has gotten a little creaky sometimes off road but the fit and finish overall is still really nice. I've had a lot of issues with this rack. First off, the instructions are absolutely horrible! Second, the powder coat is not very good quality and a bunch of my pieces were chipped and peeling when I got it. Putting this rack on with the trail rail system is doable but it's going to take a lot of work and ingenuity due to the fact the instructions are horrible. Some of the bolts they give you are not long enough and you'll have to purchase new ones. And some of my bolts that hold down the feet to the trail rail broke within the first month of using it. If you check out some of the forums you will see a lot of other people having these same issues. I've also seen one user that had the crossbars break at the welds.
@Overlanderoos2 жыл бұрын
Some good points in here. I found the instructions to be satisfactory at best, but figure-out-able. Powder coating for me was excellent, albeit a few screw heads are starting to show corrosion. I have seen the troubles within the forums and are keeping a close eye on my welds as well. I really appreciate the feedback here and sharing your experiences!

Probably be fine with 4 but see if your tent calls for 6, I ran around with 4 for quite a while, I'd check your manual and follow their installation advice. I know the Mt. Denali called for 6 tied downs where the smaller only call for 4,.more would distribute the weight but it may not be necessary.

I just received this rack an i can say within 5 minutes I was instantly wondering if I made a poor decision buying it. They didn't install the 6 pressed in nuts on the one connecting tube that runs down the length of the rack on the bottom. Figuring I would just do it myself tomorrow I continued another 5 minutes to discover that on the upper driver side connecting tube they didnt tap threads into the thread plate that tie together the front and rear of the rack. Their QC is clearly straight shit.
