And then going back to show why you did that, to further assist with committing that information to memory. It is far too easy to overlook the little things. Great video. What kind of jeep are you thinking of getting?
@seanpereira69615 жыл бұрын
Had mine for about a year, you won't necessarily use the feature, but can take a ton on the back (more than the ute can, a Nissan Navara NP300, like your Frontiers, but later model) and you can load any kind of mess on it and it washes off without encroaching into the drawers. Everyone thinks mud, which is usually stuck to the off-road go kart, but I often lug around rolls of fibreglass fireproofing blanket, and man, you know real fast if those fibres find their way into camping gear (that lives in my narrower drawer full time). Never had an ingress issue with either.

I like the deck part, but you have lost a lot of space after install. it's the same reason i'm not putting a storage system in my 2dr, anyway I do it, it adds weight and lose space. having a 2dr space and weight are at premium. don't get me wrong it looks good for securing your stuff.
@Th3unknownuser1115 жыл бұрын
Once you add a rack you make up for the lost space. Same goes for a camper shell... You make up for the missing space.
@wayalife5 жыл бұрын
After we install a RTT, we plan on strapping our spare on top of the deck. Without it, our spare would sit in the bed and we'd lose most of our storage space. While SOME space has been lost, it's FAR from the "lots" you seem to think. We're able to carry all the gear we would normally carry in our Wrangler PLUS have room to spare. But then, you can believe what you want. :)

If this can support the weight of a quad or 2 dirtbikes/dualsports, these drawers have seemed like a great product since I saw a system in the Gladiator at the auto show. The show person didn't know the weight capacity when I asked. For those who still want a deep bed, sides can be built up, see-thru or not. For even more stowage, a roofrack and top box/bag can offer HUGE capacity for this little crewcab.

Looks nice if it last will be the test. You should put some dielectric grease on the plug you put in to keep it from getting water in by the prongs,etc. Smart idea to extend it out. You gain some ability especially can put long items in it like fishing pole, but you loose so much of the bed capacity. It will also make it easier grabbing something over the side as the bed floor is higher up.

I like the idea of industrially produced storage solutions that fit multiple types and models of vehicles. There is a trade off regarding space efficiency. Though in this case it looks like it utilizes only half or at most 2/3 of the system volume. The installation looked quite complex: lots of preparation, parts and screws. Is the Decked system really that much cheaper or lighter than other solutions?
@wayalife5 жыл бұрын
I think 2/3's is a stretch but you can believe that if you want. We've managed to pack all the stuff we normally carry with us in our Wrangler and still have room to spare. Plus, we can STILL carry a ton more stuff up on top if we needed too. Price is about the same as other solutions we looked into and being that it's made out of plastic as opposed to steel, we found it to be lighter as well. But hey, I would encourage you to find a solution that works best for you :)
@fastandcurious5 жыл бұрын
I am just in general fascinated by space efficient design. Camper and commercial vehicle solutions for storage seem like such a fragmented market globally. Yet the demand for solutions and the base vehicles are increasingly similar. As a European, I love to see a decked like solution using "euro crates" or "euro boxes". These standardized modular heavy duty plastic boxes are used all over the place here, from bakeries, in trades and industry supply, even for furniture and camping. Yet I haven't found a convincing self contained modular tray / slide solution, that goes beyond a simple flat tray. With euro boxes because of their straight walls, size variety and stackability, they would be more space efficient and flexible mixed with a decked like system.

That is cool. Just one question. Your electrical plug. It will stay dry? Again Eddie Excellent video

It should. It sits under the deck and has the plug cover over it too.

Not bad - Now imagine if that whole system was flush with the bed, like a bed cover. More space, without wasting space, and not so complicated. All-in-all 7/10 rating, would recommend for long haulers.

I'm sure it's just me but I'm really happy that it doesn't go all the way up as I now have sides that help to hold more gear in place that I strap to the top of the deck.

For what they want for those things, you'd think it would be assembled. Holy hell!

That's why I built my own. For roughly 100 bucks and a few afternoons. Also, get way more customizability.

I like the system as one doesn’t need to remove panels or drill into the car to fix it in place. Would need some heavy duty locks on the drawers though just to be sure. I don’t know if you needed more glam shots or to open and close the drawers more lol.
