@@KenMiddletonUkulele dear Ken! Did, you start the tutorial? I could not yet find it. Would be very interested. I like very much how special you play this simple song.

@@harryhuettmann2312 Sorry. I never got round to it. Why not just slow it down and copy me? The chords are really easy.

@@KenMiddletonUkulele Thanks for your soon reply. Well, the chorts/tab I do have. This song is of course in every dulcimer songbook. But what I really like and interested in, is learning your kind of musical way of playing "simple" songs like this. When you play it, it sounds very different. Anyway, I will try as you suggested! And I will try to follow some of your "tricks" for sounding better than I'm really are - as you explained for ukulele. Best regards!

@@harryhuettmann2312 I have a series of ukulele tutorials called 5 Ways … The principles I teach in these videos can equally well apply to dulcimer playing.

Beautiful sound. Does your dulcimer have a pickup or was it recorded with only a microphone?
@KenMiddletonUkulele2 жыл бұрын
Thanks. No, I don't much like pickups, unless playing live on a big stage (and then only on ukulele). In this recording I am using a stereo pair of good quality microphones. I record into Logic Pro on my Mac. Less expensive microphone are so good nowadays though, so there is no need to pay a lot.

@@KenMiddletonUkulele Thanks for the reply. The sound was so full that I was wondering if you recorded straight from a pickup. Amazing sound out of such a simple instrument. I hope to build one some day and then learn to play shortly thereafter.

@@red58impala I personally would always prefer the sound of acoustic instruments through microphone. Pickups usually give a very unnatural sound. Thanks.
