Go Treads vs Maxtrax Part 1

Need to point out store space. I do not have room for maxtrax on my rig, and many do not have the room. So Go Treads work for me. I can also use the Go Treads as leveling blocks, a plus for Go Treads.

The Go Treads are supposed to be "fed" into the tire after you are stuck (in the mud, snow, etc). That might be more of a test to try.

The problem is that you don't have weight on the tire; the tire is essentially hovering above the board. The two components of traction are the friction coefficient and the normal force. Traction boards are meant to increase the former but your problem is you have zero of the latter.

Looks like you have the GoTreads placed in the wrong direction/orientation

Ok interesting, thanks for the tip. Kind of a downside to the product though, that you could place them backwards? Also as you saw in the mud puddle they were pretty much a failure in both directions.

@@gamiviti4828 I suppose your 40 would have a product downside if someone didn’t know how to drive stick then? It is foolish to try and say that a product is not good when the user doesn’t correctly know how to utilize it.

Just got a car stuck out of snow and mud. The nose of the car was in a dich. I thought there is no way , go treads is going to work. Well they did work and worked well. And this car was stuck 10 times worse than your jeep. The design of the cut groves do mean something you have to use it properly to make them work.

Honestly How hard is it for you to actually go over the boards evenly, you were half off the boards on most of your tests

Those folding ones take up too much space, and you cant mount them outside your vehicle once they are filthy, pass..

I was going to buy the gotreads, but that is a very good point about mounting them outside the vehicle.

Mount? How about just folding them up, put them in a bag and stow away? No mess if in a bag.
