I think wes hould open our eyes to the fact that soiled inorganica cannot be recycled, thats y nations like Germany have separate collection of recyclables and only residual waste goes to such treatment plants. The recyclables that you separate from these plants are of least recyclable value.. Same with compost, the compost quality paramters have not been shared but with mixed waste , compost is more often than not contaminated and is not safe to be used as compost. Please have more information, the compost from mixed waste s not used as compost due to it's contamination. Rather they only send bio- waste collected in separate bin for composting. Noothing from mixed waste is used as compost. These plants will only be of use in true sense when separate collection of waste is done.

Shivali Sugandh..... That's should be the idea. In Bangalore, apartment complexes have waste segregation in effect.....not sure about other cities, but it would be wise to implement this throughout the country

Project Cost is 140 crores ,Govt.has given them 1 lakh sq.mts of land , free raw material delivery upto plant, Transportation cost is borne by village panchayats from Bardez Taluka , and Goa Government pays Rs.36.6 crores annually in the form of Viablity Gap funding . Which govt. ll pay dem for 10 years. So finally what is cost for process 100 tons of waste ? AND again methane gas , power ,and solid waste will be sold to vendors by Hindustan waste treatment Pvt.Ltd. Green Elephant ( Germany )does similar kind of project for 20 crores . Just hype what goa . der r similar plant in Satara. Garware buy methane gas from Satara Waste Mangement plant.

Similar plants are operating in Gujarat (called Agrogas) and in Solapur...... But then anti-national main media and Congress etc will never acknowledge such steps (& many more taken by Modi Govt). Anyway, it would be easier to run such plants if people segregate organic and inorganic waste at point of production (homes, hotels etc). With the amount of garbage produced in India everyday, such technology can reduce reliance on imported oil. Compressed biogas can be used for private vehicles, buses & electricity first with oil for trucks and trains only.

waste of public money technologies like these which are solely based on moving machinery and manpower are destined to fail, as the cost of capital expenditure is way too much, meanwhile spreading the waste all across the city and trying to recover the valuables from garbage will make the problem worse, government should focus on disposal at source facilities rather than recycling

6.30 mins onwards..... Gud Joke, Thermocol is recyclable??? Plastics is recyclable (how many times) and if so then why is the world crying as plastic a problem??? The owner and the govt is ill informed

The govt isn't misinformed, my friend, if anyone is, it is you. Plastic IS recyclable, the only problem is the centers to recycle it are not many. The procedure the plants follow is more or less same in the initial process: Plastic passes through conveyor belts, gets sorted; labels separated from the bottles; The process might variate now, plant to plant; But basically, the labelless, crushed and quite compressed bottles now get torn into very small bits. These are sterilized and treated, and sent to bottle makers and plastic production centers and put to use again. The problem, what the world is actually crying about, you see, is the relative passiveness in the presence of such recycling centers, and the EXTREMELY high consumption rate of plastic which such centers try so hard to keep up with. Lets give the govt a good hand for god's sake it is at least trying to reduce and recycle waste, instead of calling it misinformed. In most cases it might be, but not here.
