Myth dispelled I live out of my Prius in Maine, since July 2019, and I have a Yeti 3000. Never a problem with cold, and it gets to below zero. Works like a charm. I very recently purchased a Yeti 500x, and it's a great complement to my 3000.

Thanks for those videos John, I'm looking into acquiring a unit like this also. I like your move of getting two 3000x instead of a 6000x. EMP shielded bag, that's a whole another level!
@aceprepper20264 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment. Even though two 3000x's is more expensive than one 6000x, it was worth it to me knowing that I have a backup in case anything happens to one of them. Also as I mentioned, I plan to buy LIB Goal Zero expansion batteries when they start selling them. I did the math, looked at all the options, and decided on two 3000x's. I'm happy with that decision.

John, I have a question about the EMP shielding bag. I understand the thought of protecting the generators in case of some kind of electrical-magnetic event. But what would you be powering if something happens to the rest of your electronics that are not protected? I'm a bit new in the prepper space, and don't know a ton about EMP issues, so maybe I'm missing something. Would appreciate any thoughts you have on this.

Thanks David. There's lots more to come. I'm waiting for a rainy day to test the solar panels in the rain compared to a sunny day and a cloudy day.

I am curious if you considered buying the Point Zero Titan generator. I am torn between the yeti 3000x and the Titan. The things that attract me to the Titan is that it is about $600 cheaper and it has a 2000 watt hour lithium battery vs a 500 watt hour lithium battery for the yeti.

I have a 3000, no x. Bought it from Goal Zero during their 2019 Memorial Day sale. Unit cost $2300, normally about $3100. Works well, but I prefer the smaller units, I have a 500x, and looking to get another one. I figure $800 would be a fair price to sell the 3000. If you're interested, let me know. How long can you run multiple items with your 3000 yeti? Let’s say your gas furnace and refrigerator during a blackout?

I have just received a 3000X. Can’t figure out how to completely shut off the display light (as the light turns back on within 30 seconds after pressing the light button). No output lights are on. Just the display light. Thoughts?

Hey brother. I like your videos. I was wondering if you have used the GZ3000 to a portable AC unit. I have an 8000BTU and I was wondering if it will run it and for how long before the battery dies. Thanks.

Nice buy, John... How many Anderson PowerPole input connectors does the 3000x come with? On the gen1, you can get two APP inputs (1-integrated, 1-mppt) - which allows for a maximum aggregate input of 650Watts.
@aceprepper20264 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the great question. I also appreciated your video review on the Yeti 3000 that I watched before I bought my first Yeti. So the new Yeti 3000x comes with one Anderson Power Pole input, which can handle max 600 watts input. It also has two 8mm inputs, which can handle 120 watts input each. The user guide that comes with the Yeti states that there is a 600 watt max input across all input ports. What's not stated in the booklet, but which I believe I found through some other GZ literature, is that all three input ports are MPPT. I also question if you can have more input than 600 watts? I'll do a little more research to find out. Thanks again. John at Aceprepper.
@kalasag91134 жыл бұрын
@@aceprepper2026 - Thanks, John. I wish GZ would've modularized the "charging" ports to allow the buyer to choose the input ports to use (during Add-to-Cart). I've standardized my solar panel inputs via APP connectors (using 8mm is additional overhead for me). Limiting the 3000x to just (1) 600w APP input means aggregating all solar panels to one fat (7AWG or bigger) cable. I think that may become a safety issue, especially for those that have installed the home integration kit (like me). I hope the 6000x (if that model is true) has a much better port-input design/modularity.

@aceprepper20264 жыл бұрын
That's a good question. Currently all the Yeti X's are difficult to find even in the U.S. I preordered mine four months in advance. Goal Zero sold out in one day when they came out. There are a lot of fires in California right now with frequent power outages, so demand is very high in the U.S. right now; and for the foreseeable future. If Goal Zero does ship internationally, you might consider calling them and getting on the waiting list. That's what I did, and it worked. If REI ships internationally, they are a good company to purchase from as well. John at AcePrepper.

These videos are great but they always show a 3000 W unit can run something under 3000 W. No kidding. I got that. What I want to know is what can I run at THE SAME TIME. Meaning my refrigerator, chest freezer and possibly a fan or phone charger or laptop. And for how long. Anybody? Bueller? Bueller?
@syncor44 жыл бұрын
Try not to store the yeti with more than 70% charge. That stresses the battery out and it will degrade faster.

can this run a portable ac unit?
@aceprepper20264 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the question. The Yeti 6000x, 3000x, and 1500x will all handle an ac that runs under 2,000 watts continuously, with surges (spike when the compressor initially turns on) up to 3,500 watts. I recommend the Midea U Inverter Window Air Conditioner if you have normal sliding sash windows. I have casement windows, so I bought the LG LP1419IVSM 14,000 BTU White Dual Inverter portable ac. I wanted to purchase the climax-air dc inverter portable ac unit, but it was out of stock and no longer in production. I called climax-air and they are going to produce an updated unit in 2021. For energy efficiency I would go with an inverter ac. If it is a portable unit I would go with a dual hose. Unfortunately climax-air is the only company that makes a dc inverter compressor with a dual hose, and the new units won't come out until 2021. So I went with the LG. A part broke on my LG, and when I get it replaced I will do a video with the Yeti 3000x powering the portable ac unit. I didn't want to have to go to a hotel to keep my kids cool if a power outage happened, so I purchased the portable ac just for emergencies. Hope this helps. John at AcePrepper.

Here's a chart I found helpful when purchasing a portable ac unit to run off of the Yeti 3000x: www.climax-air.com/compare-portable-ac/
@aceprepper20264 жыл бұрын
I just got an update from Climax-Air that they are no longer going to produce the portable dc inverter ac unit in 2021. This is their email to me: "Hi John, the portable is not coming back in its present form, it will be replaced sometime next year with an inverter window unit (solar-ready). Sorry, no details yet." So I guess I will stick with my LG LP1419IVSM.

I'm sorry sir but you did a part two and you still didn't really get into detailed information. This was more of an infomercial than a review. That being said the final tip About plugging in the yeti to the wall and then plugging The yeti to your appliances, that's the kind of information I expected from the entire review.
