After three years and five months it still charges up to ninety percent. I am completely satisfied with the Yeti. I am excited to see the new Yeti 6000. I would buy it. Thanks GZ guys.

The 3000 is $3000!!! I dont think anyone could afford that. A gas/propane generator is up to 3 times more powerful and can run longer as long as you have fuel, and that under $1200. I Another question is does the Yeti come with solar panels, answer is no. SO thats another expense.

@@blahblahha919 these things have a big advantage over gas though. you can keep them in the house while its running, so if you dont need to run something big this is ideal. even if you leave the gas generator outside and run an extention cord inside, the noise of the gas generator gets super annoying

Great video! I made a similar video testing a few different items as well as the Boulder 100 for input power. You should consider making a video showing your solar panels plugged into the PWM and MPPT charge controllers and showing the differences in efficiencies! I love my Yeti 1400! Thanks for sharing :)

Hi Joel, I use a Yeti 400 (non-lithium). Yes, you can charge and use it at the same time I'm charging it and powering my router, CD changer, Zoom H6 as I write this comment. I am not currently charging my laptop with , but I just did. I am hoping to get a bigger model so I can power my fridge, oven, and toaster as well.

Simple question. No one will use an iron or blender during an emergency. What we will use is the REFRIDGERATOR, LAMPS and TV. If all 3 are plugged into a Yeti 1400, how long can they run, considering typical side by side fridge and flat screen tv?

Great question, I'd like to know, too. I haven't been able to get a definitive answer yet, but do have some info to share which you may find helpful. The average refrigerator pulls around 800 watts (but doesn't run continuously, it cycles), each light bulb will pull 60 or 100 watts (however it's marked) unless you use LEDs, which sip power (15 watts used to approximate a 60 watt incandescent). An average laptop can pull around 30 watts. So you can add these up for your total "run draw" (# of watts used when all are running) to determine how many watts you will need (e.g. 1250, 1400, 2200, 3000 or higher). But don't forget refrigerators use a "surge draw," meaning when the compressor first kicks on, it will draw 50-100% more power for a couple of minutes until it gets going. So your "surge draw" will be significant higher than your "run" draw." For example, if your refrigerator uses 800 watts, it will *actually* use 1200-1600 watts when it first kicks on, quickly dropping down to 800 as it gets going. So be sure you pick a Yeti with not only a high enough "run draw," but also a high enougb "surge draw." As I recall, my Yeti 1250 can provide 1200 (not 1250) watts of continuous power, and has a surge capacity of 1500 watts. So it can handle my 800 watt refrigerator kicking on without blowing a fuse. But I better not be using another 400 watts for other devices when the refrigerator kicks on, or I could blow a fuse.

Thanks for the kind words. All you really need to do to find out how long an item would run for on our Yeti 1000 would be to take the wattage of the Yeti 1000, which is 1000 watts, and divide it by the wattage of your tv. This will give you the runtime before it drained the Yeti to empty.

Great and informative video! Would love to see a Goal Zero Yeti Powers: "Job Site" Edition (What typed of things at an off grid construction job site could be powered and for how long - miter saw, table saw, recharging batteries for drills, reciprocating saws, etc.) Also thing Tyler Edwards' comment of a video showing how long different solar panels take to charge different power stations would be neat. Another Goal Zero Yeti Powers Edition that would be great is of course Camping (lanterns, grills, recharging devices, cameras, laptops, heaters [not super common but if you have a toddler and want them to sleep through the night soundly while camping hahaha a heater could be nice]

Goal Zero, add on modules to add diff batts like battleborn would be appreciated! 6000 & 3000 owner for our chatanooga tinyhouse 5th wheeler. Thats all computers, cameras, tablets, 2 tvs LG cx 65", and c1 75", a fridge, 4 freezers, 2 for food for dogs, our wifi and the booster things, the "wired" cameras for our prop, the "wired" high powered LED flood and spooting lights for security... thanks to you guys, and also the numerous 500 and 1500 units we use around our property. We also use 1500 kits for all our air bnb tinyhouse rentals, with some planning. Can you guys bring out a line aimed at van lifers and tinyhousers? We have a built f550 to move our 5th wheeler tinyhouse from nooga, but we rarely move, only done 3 times ourselves. we use our rig with its dually config to haul, we will use for up coming sema auto show, which we use your 3000 unit for our airstream, and also on our toy hauler to aug onboard battleborn solar. We also use your 1500 units in our '19 and 20 Winnie Revels, for our 20 and 22 Storyteller classic, and upcoming BEAST MODE, we will be bringing your 6000 units in our vans for our drones, cameras, etc. And yes, numerous fridges for bacon, steaks, hot dogs, and precious ice cream hahaha. One of our sons lives on 40 acres up in Flagstaff, he forges edged tools from knives, to hawks, axes, and so on. Look up the math on how things like this work, (watts = volts x amps) and most all equipment have normal running watts but also have start up wattage requirements (2-3 x normal operating watts) just to get things like motors spinning. Without knowing all these quantities, but looking at what you want to run I would say possibly for about 25 minutes before you are completely out of usable power (do not drain your batteries 100% ever!) if it starts it at all.

Biggest concern in the desert is summertime a/c during power loss. I have a Yeti 150, 400 & 1400. I’ve figured out how to power (Yeti/Boulder panels) a misting system for the patio, but a/c still seems out of reach for even a 1-room a/c unit. I need Goal Zero to step up and add a demonstration of HOW TO install their intergration kits and deep cell battery set ups. I just ordered the intergation panel and their four set of deep cell batteries to go with my Goal Zero Yeti 1400W I already own. I've had the 1400 since 2018. Use it primarily in summers for camping and running lights and fans to a covered 24 foot pation with no AC. Anyway I've been trying to buy these home back up parts to go with it for a year now but Covid hit and must have created a run on these items as even though GZ sends me emails advertising them I went and they were always out of stock until this past week. Ordred both. NOW how to install? Oh yes they do recommend you get an electrcian. We will but we also frome experience and knowing we live in rural area of the USA where it's 100 miles one way to nearest town of size Kalispell MT so 200 round trip we need to know everying in advance ourselves and have all items on hand prior to calling that electrcian for his legal input and labor. So many questions so many need to knows so little in their manuals. So kudo's to reviewers and customers who upon my asking if there is a way to power our WELL which turns out is 220 via the deep cell battery and goal zero 1400 they wrote back with this statement "It can be wired for 220v but you will need to replace the connector with a P6 30 amp" So thank you customer for sharing that information. GOAL ZERO WHERE ARE YOU. You ignored my question to you on this on line and your webpage. Acutally to be clear here I've asked several questions on line and YOU NEVER ANSWERED going back to 2018 and my first purchase of the GZ Yeti 1400. But after purchase I do have a phone # to call and a name of a rep who answers clearly and helped with a few issues that cropped up back then. BUT looks like I need to contact that REP again. I wrote down his number at the time and his extention and name so I can get to a real person fast when need be. But GZ please switch some of your HYPE advertisements towards actual SHOW AND TELL videos here on Amazon and across the board on your webpage too. REALLY we need it. I'm in my 70's a female and though hubby in his 80's is supportive of my hobbies and interests he can be caught off guard say when those four over 70 pound batteries showed up a few days ago. I felt so bad for him I did carry them down into the basement myself when he went for his daily 2 mile walk. He did his part by carrying in the last batter to the top of basement stairs due to it's damaged box and lost hand hold on one side. I then proceeded to get it down to join the others too. I'm 5'2 and yes in my 70's now. So not everyone HIP YOUNG thing is the person buying into the Solar and lithium back up scene. If it uses 700W constantly, yes. But for example a fridge is powering on and of all the time. So you can't really calculate the run time based of the maximum power draw of the fridge

Hi Camilo, Sorry to hear about the troubles you're experiencing. It's possible that your coffee maker goes beyond the AC output's capabilities of 120VAC 60Hz, 2.5A (300W continuous, 1200W surge max) by drawing too much power. We'd suggest contacting our solutions center team at 1-888-794-6250 Monday - Friday from 8am - 5pm MST to verify the specs of your coffee maker to see if it will function on your Yeti 400 or if you'd need to use a larger unit.

Camilo Pineda definitely used error and lack of info it's very important to know what you need so you can get what you need. Electric appliances use a lot of juice because something has to either cool or heat plus they all surge in power initially or when doing certain task.

The Yeti will be usless for a fridge because start up of a fridge is about 1400 watts when warm, even if you get it started it will use 300-500 to get the fridge cold, within a few hours your Yeti would be dead, now your fridge is going warm while you charge your Yeti for the next 20hrs. And you're back to square 1.

Well, for normal people living on the grid, there are advantages of not having a noisy, smelly, easily stolen machine outside when there are no lights in the neighborhood. It really can't compete with the dual-fuel generators that can quite easily power most of your house with a transfer switch. But the Yeti might get your frozen food through an outage and keep your sump pump running as well. You could go for a $20,000 Telsa Powerwall if you're drowning in cash.

What I'm seeing, is the Yeti 1400 lost a whopping 16% of its charge running a fridge light, and two coffee makers for only 10-20 seconds each. Because of the insignificant amount of time you used each item, it's not really what I'd qualify as a real test, and not convincing at all.

Hi Trish, Thank you for your comment. We did plug in his fridge to the Yeti 1400 on the counter. We simply rolled the fridge out and attached an extension cable to it because the cord wasn't long enough to reach the top of the counter. had the Yeti 1400 been on the floor next to the fridge the cable from the fridge would've reached the Yeti just fine to power from it.

I have a yeti 1000 and it powers my large residential fridge just fine.
