Goan Ansacho Sheero | Easy Pineapple Sheera
All measurements used are in US standard cup size.
Allergy Info: Contains wheat.
Serves: 6
Ingredients for Pineapple Sheera:
Sooji Rawa Coarse/Semolina - 1 Cup
Ghee/Clarified Butter - 1/2 Cup
Granulated Sugar - 1/2 Cup (Add more if you prefer more sweet)
Water - 2 Cups
Pineapple - 3/4th Cup, very small pieces
Salt - Pinch
Cardamom/Elaichi Powder - 3/4th tspn
Cashew bits & Raisins - 2 tblspns each
Yellow Food Color - Pinch, Optional
Saffron/Keshar - Pinch, Optional
Method:
1) Cover & bring water to a boil. Add Pineapple pieces. Cover and cook for 5-6 mins until tender. Keep covered. Add Keshar, if using, to the water at this stage.
2) Over medium flame, add ghee to a pan. Add nuts and roast them well. Drain and set aside.
3) Add Rawa and roast until aromatic/light golden in color in the same pan over medium-low flame. Do not burn.
4) Add salt, sugar, and pineapple water along with food color and mix very well until water dries up. Switch off the flame.
5) Add elaichi powder and nuts and mix well. Serve hot.
