Goat Bloat Needs IMMEDIATE ACTION, Have Treatments on Hand!

Goats can die of bloat very quickly if left untreated. Please have a remedy ON HAND so you can act as quickly as possible to save them. I hope this helps you!
If using mineral oil, add a flavoring so the goat knows to swallow. The flavorlessness of the mineral oil can cause a goat to aspirate instead of swallow.
Another treatment:
1C water
1/2 C oil
1tsp epsom salt
1tsp baking soda
1 egg yolk
-mix together and give in a tube or drench

This was made a while ago so I forget offhand. The treatment in the video is called bloat treatment by durvet. The recipe for the alternative is in the description box I believe..if you leave baking soda out for the goats free-choice that's best!

Does the goat get better and then it bloat again? Check the diet and make sure it isn't too acidic or too much grain. Try leaving out baking soda so the goat can balance it's rumen after treatment with the bloat meds.

It's called "bloat treatment" that I used. Mineral oil works too but you want to flavor it with something like Molasses so they can taste it. Mineral oil can accidentally be breathed in instead of swallowed..the flavor helps with that.

so,if we everytime add some baking soda to thier food,will prevent bloat happen? grain cannot eat too much?

I would leave out free choice baking soda so they can take what they need. They can make their own PH balance by chewing their cud so long steamy forage is better for them, like hay. Some grain is fine just watch them and leave out baking soda free choice. Thanks for watching!!
