Some Plot holes i mentioned... 1) their is 15 minutes fight scene in train and many time jayaram was standing near Gandhi... Why can't he just say “menon is alive” ...it will take only 1 or 2 seconds naa ?? Why should he need to wait to show entire evidence of him being alive when the important informanion him being alive itself 2) Gandhi and team is threatened by jeevan through video call with meenakshi as hostage... Is Gandhi so dumb that he can't even recogonise his son‘s voice (the scene had cleary shown no voice modulation is used) 3) as a normal procedure, when a body is unidentifiable, DNA matching is done... Since the accident has not taken place in front of their eyes and it was also a kidnap, it is a normal procedure..but the famous spy’s and police forgot that procedure and assumed the burned child was jeeven without even investigationg wether their was a 2nd child in the wan 4) Gandhi brought n entire armed soldiers to capture menon and save himself and his wife, but decided he himself is enough to save the entire stadium with thousands of people and left the soldiers with his wife and took menon by himself to the stadium 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ 5) okay...may be gandhi is enough to stop them....BUT WHY THE HECK HE EVEN LET THEM MAKE AND PLANT THE BOMB ??? THey had already raided the bombs parts stored in Vaibhav‘s house, understood and discussed that “okay they are planning to bomb somewhere in chennai” and leave all the parts their, so that they can make the bomb, plant the bomb, and Gandhi can stop the bombing and cature them Red handeldy !!!!! WHAT ????? They didn't knew where they are planning to bomb so didn't do anything and waited to know the location...but the bomb itself is in front of them 👀👀👀...and tgey waited to catch them red hnded ???? “dei...5000 uyiru daa....”🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ i just watched 1 time in theatre but these big plot holes was clearly evident...don't know how many more are their when i rewatch it again 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🙏🙏🙏🙏

Priyamudan (1998) is still Vijay’s best villain performance. It was a blockbuster and was remade into 5 languages including Hindi. Shame Tamil audience only talk about Vijay as a villain in Azhagiya Tamizh Magan (2007). The 2007 movie has an interesting concept with a dual role subject but flopped because of screenplay. But Kannukkul Nilavu his 25. Film is Vijays most underrated film in his filmography. A physocological thriller that showed Vijay’s craziest performance in a movie directed by Fazil. This movie wasn’t a typical commercial movie. The Character Vijay played in his 25th film stayed with him for 8 months after release. Stating that the psychological character haunted him.

The politics of this film is extremely poor. It's not that Vijay has not played the bad guy in any of his previous films... Azhgiya Tamil Magan, Leo have had a darker shade of Vijay but none of them come close to Sanjay/Jeevan in this film.... In terms of the act of crime portrayed. We have Vijay who plays a terrorist which is all good as he is in a double role also playing a good guy... From a team that made Maanadu which excellently blended humour and thriller in a high concept like time loop... I only fathom what went wrong with this one.... The film felt like the Director was so in love with celebrating Vijay that he forgot about the nuanced topic the film is treading on... We have a villain Vijay who has just murdered a RAW officer... Dance to Spark and the audience is supposed to cheer... We have a Vijay who has been established as a terrorist dance in a nostalgia bait fan service song with Trisha just after he murdered an innocent indian girl post abducting her and demanding other terrorists to be let into the country.... and we are supposed to cheer for it.... We have a Vijay who has been established as a terrorist that is about to bomb blast an entire stadium of Indian people... Dance to Halamathi Habibo in the name of fan service and we are supposed to cheer for it... See I understand fan service.... But why does it need to happen through Vijay playing a terrorist character who is committing anti national crimes. The audience in my theatre was numb.... They were shocked by the atrocity this movie was.... Not a sound... This was an audience that entered the theatre full of excitement to watch their hero who was going to be showcased as the Greatest of All time... Sadly it just turned out to be the Greatest Test of Patience.... And secondly... This is not Vijay's last few films for sure... The end credits revealed the same... So the audience getting sentimental and going easy on the film is only a manipulation PR being done by the production house.... They delivered a shit film with a Star actor who was in great form... And just wanted to lower the blow that comes towards them... By calling it a simple entertainer... Boss... 400 crores for a simple entertainer... It is a crime. Thirdly... And I take this very personally... U have a GOAT RAW Agent Vijay... Who without verification brings back a terrorist Vijay, who just conducted anti national acts of crime on one of the Indian Embassy right in front of your eyes... To India... Without Background verification... Escaping by calling the film a simple masala entertainer... Does not excuse anyone to showcase the Intelligence agency of my country as a joke.... Not only that... At many points of time in the film... The defence agency of our country is shown as incompetent... And the audience is expected to cheer at the "fan service". What is frustrating is... There is a great film potential idea here... With concepts like brainwashing done by terrorist organisations... Exploring the psychological implication of it... They could have made a much darker and grounded racy thriller that would have genuinely had the audience on their toes.... All the fanfare in the film only derails it and makes it intolerable... Especially with the excruciating runtime. From an actor who delivered politically right messaging with films like Thuppaki, Mersal, Master and many other films... It was sad to see Vijay land up in such a politically incorrect film.

The problem of GOAT is it tries to be four things without any consistency 😂 1. In the first quarter it tries to be a 'Family Man' with Crazy Mohan kinda comedy. 2. Biggest Villains of this GOAT 1. Venkat Prabhu - the action seems to have been directed first and had post production done before many of the filler scenes lending to incoherence and mismatched tone. 2. Yuvan Shankar's music is mostly awful and the score is even worse. Only the first 2 songs should be retained. 3. The Editor and Sound Engineer did not understand that they needed to approach the task with a lack of of bias. Baddy and Jammy have given very accurate reviews. A missed oppurtunity. Personally i feel an hour can be trimmed. 6/10 from a Vijay fan.

Idk about others, but Vijay was at his peak in terms of his performance, especially Jeevan role. Bgm was great and whistle podu was a banger in theatre, entire theatre erupted in mass moments. This is strictly a regional film ( partly why only people popular in Tamil are there). The cameo is just like passing the baton to a younger actor ask Thalapathy is moving into politics. The scene cutting to song is like something old as hell, but the made me remember about 2010’s commercial Tamil cinema (which was the norm). Overall, I liked this movie and definitely better than the last 3 movies ( leo(I am still reconciling from the loss), varisu and beast)

It's because he didn't want to, in the recent interviews he was clear that he just set out to make a commercial celebration of vijay that incorporates the comedy, dance and punchiness of vijay in his penultimate movie. Lokesh was the only director that had a more genre specific vision and had the story precede the actor, he failed in Leo because he was in a rush to build his LCU, in the end VP could've pulled it off but he didn't. I don't support it but not against it either, but the cinephile in you and me would've liked that extra ounce of story

I was there at night too, so I could see him leave shooting. Since there were very tall people around I got pushed off to the corner. I am not any diehard fan of Vijay but still I feel this film was a decent watch and wasnt a stupid product like beast. Surprisingly I didn't feel the long runtime of the movie, except the scene which cuts to a random duet song. I didn't have any expectations from the film and if we remove our logical brains outside the theater and watch the film it will be definitely engaging. And another plus point of the movie, VP has properly utilised Vijay the actor well in the movie, the thalapathy vs young thalapathy faceoff scenes were an absolute treat to watch. Also they could have chosen a different location within the stadium for the climax, that place was purely ridiculous for such a scene 😂😂

1. Imo, Leo was the perfect sendoff for Vijay. A man who's true personality was only revealed to the audience, decides to stay away in isolation would metaphorically blur the lines as he steps away from cinema. 2. If I were to write GOAT, I'd have focused on the Thalapathy vs Illayathalapathy dynamic, making it more about the clash of personalities and ideologies between a more seasoned and politically ready Vijay, versus the youthful brashness and charisma of a villainous Illayathalapthy. Would have been a more complete sendoff to a legend with the fans getting to experience all the aspects of Vijay we've come to celebrate over the years. Anways, ain't my movie. Just glad I got to celebrate Thalapathy on the big screen again. Lord knows we probably have one more chance to do that.

Forget about Logic literally. Movies are all about suspending belief. In that process, if the director is able to make you suspend belief and follow them convincingly, that's a successful outing. Having watched GOAT, it fails to convince at a number of places. It is a good plot, no doubt, but it is an unpolished product that lacks the conviction at many places and in the process, fails to suspend belief.

Respected Jammy, My thoughts about this review is not to say you are wrong. But to share my opinion. 1. Salman Khan in Pathaan has nothing to do with story. Shah Rukh khan in ae Dil hai mushkil as well. Actually to be honest srk in brahmastra as well. Benedict Wong in Spiderman no way home as well. Just to entertain and nothing else. 2. Pathaan was a fan service, out and out. The movie in a point of view is a remake of war, as the portions involving, tiger Shroff to act as hritik roshan's Ally to take over the disc and then revealing that he is saurabh, leaving him to die, and the portion involving rubai to act as Pathaan's Ally and after getting hold of the virus, leaving Pathaan to die revealing herself are exactly the same. The final part that saurabh launching a deadly weapon to destroy india through a launcher and Kabir stopping it, revealing that he already found the plan and Jim launching the virus, Pathaan stopping it, revealing that it was his own members made him to come here are the same. 3. Faratta song from Jawan also comes from nowhere in a perspective. The very next scene of Priya mani's death will be a funny one. By the way, Jawan is also a fan service movie and Sanjay dutt sir's charecter is also a cameo. Now my points regarding GOAT: 1. Should a movie be always crisp throughout its runtime and can't be slow for story telling and can't be 3 hour long. 2. Shouldn't an already told story be told in a different manner, as I didn't saw a movie where the hero is an innocent father and villian is a fun maniac, and both played by same actor. 3. Should every movie's bgm be like Ravi basrur's, anirudh's, and thaman's style and not in a soft one. 4. The charecter of srinidhi was created to kill and the villian celebrates his victory, in the same way as dimple Kapadia was to be killed in Pathaan. In the same way as the Gayathri charecter was created to be killed in Vikram, and the very next shot was involving the mass action scene of Vikram followed by edm version of por Kanda Singam. 5. I completely will agree with the critical nature of the post credit scene. 6. Except for it, I thought that there is not even a minute wasted unnecessarily. Please share your thoughts.❤

Priyamudan - Vijay was a menace that execution is missing. Also when you want to showcase one agent as the greatest atleast make others equally compelling like what worked in VIKRAM for the agents other than the Protogonist. GOAT misses out on that. Have a motive for the antagonist as why he became a rogue. Also have a motive for him well set so he could further from the turn of events from the revenge. Doesn't do that well in GOAT. Also brainwashed is one thing but Gemini Man had clear character arc for that Junior what GOAT does is not even let his the hero his father know why he chooses to remain loyal to Menon. Lazy writing or convenient screenplay. Had the same duration had all the above rather than the fillers it currently has GOAT would have been the celebration the director promised but didn't deliver.

Even when you dropped this I didn't watch and didn't spoil myself and watched it in theatres. This is what I felt in simple. But there's more to it. The only good thing was some action scenes and fanservice and references to the old movie dialogues and songs. to me, it felt like a sci-fi version of Jailer. It lacked a mass entry with BGM, as Anirudh does. Action cuts were so tiring & sound balance was irritating + for Kollywood fans, they maxed out the volume of the theatre and the treble was hitting a lot compared to the bass. The story was not fresh and usual. The cast was so good though. Vijay killed it with the double role. Loved the cameos. I felt they went Ravanasura-type violence and many of the parents had to close their kids' eyes. Also felt Gemini man vibes & BMCM vibes. 1st half went well & second half was unexpected. Fans screaming more for Jeevan than Gandhi made me realize that they don't value the hero or villain. And they want to see their actor no matter if he does good or bad. Not worth the overpriced ticket value. I feel Prasanth, Prabhu Deva, Jayaram Sirs & Ajmal bro got more highlighted in dance. I saw Vijay did incorrect steps tbh which was shocking for me. Feels like this was shot parallelly with Leo and in a hurry.

Once i watched the interview of leo producer in that interview he said that lokesh narrated him the story of leo where the plot was different.producer was okay with the storyline then he asked lokesh to narrate the story for vijay.lokesh narrated the story of leo to vijay after hearing vijay asked for the major changes in the plot and producer was ok with it.then movie got released however it was average. So here we will get to know Vijay is the main reason for downfall of his own movies because when it comes to the plot he involves with directors and makes major changes just to do the fan service.so this is my opinion for why his movie plots are not good post pandemic....

@@lethavadlasivakumar I am not talking about Vijay I am talking about the movie not visually appealing de-aging is worst some camera shots are not good low quality VFX shots CGI can be seen. Although story has some twists and strong scenes, the director is much more capable. Heroine has zero impact on story. Disappointed in director when compared with his past movies. But the saviour of movie is Vijay with his market pull he can reek profits. Imagine if they did solid work this would have been tamil's first 1000 crore.
