Favela seemed like a very balanced map. Had a lot of close quarter areas primarily in the middle lane, with wider open side lines with a lot of different elevations to provide unique angles. To me it’s in S tier. Always loved playing on Favela.

To me, Highrise will always be up there. In my experience, it was (and maybe still is) one of the only maps to add so many spots that people now a days would consider a "glitch". Like getting to the top of that one building was always fun. Very high risk / high reward trying to make the jump. The ledges on the one side. The crane. Hiding behind the desks. Breaking the windows and hiding on the ledges. It was still a 3 lane map but so many fun ways to get around those. I can't recall many maps that did this but then again I haven't played in a long time so eh ;)

Derail= back out immediately. Nothing egregiously wrong with this list. In general, I think I like MW2 maps more than everyone else because I have good memories on all of them. The only map in the game I straight up hated was Derail. I even got my first nuke on that map and still ended up hating it.

For me its Rust. Absolutely the number one 1v1 map every made. I get it, its such a small part of the game (1v1's) but it just created so many memories. So many laughs and arguments were settled here I just cant leave it out of GOATed.

I def respect all of the opinions, but Derailed and Estate are incredible S&D maps. One group works towards the bomb site, while the other pushes for central position and watches over the push… Damn you gotta love the team play on these maps. These maps gave a much needed slow pace to an almost perfect fast paced game which made it very well rounded.

Also the boys seem to hate on the maps that actually made the game great. The newer CODs that are getting hate are suffering bc the maps are too typical. One of the best things about MW2 was that they had unique maps…… Open fields in Wasteland to entice sniping, close quarters on favela/scrapyard to help with shotguns and smgs, then mid range combat with terminal/skidrow. Then you also have well rounded maps like KarachiSub base. So much variety.

Highrise should be S tier, that map was insanely bad for domination back when that was a competitive mode. You’d be stuck on the one side of the map getting spawn trapped. Additionally, estate probably should have been moved down. The amount of losers posted up in the house with the aa-18 (auto shotgun), claymores, and one man army made if unplayable
