To add to your theory that that dragon is Garf's stepdad, both the dragon and Garf's stepdad have the same eye colour- blue. Also, regarding that scene at the beginning with Subaru, it was mentioned in the novels that that was the two curses fighting each other over Subaru's body. The curse from the dogs and the curse from the dragon blood. Remember, Subaru still has the curses from the dogs in s1. Beako dispelled the first curse he had, but he had gotten cursed again when he went into the forest with Rem to save the kids. It was revealed that Beako couldn't dispell those new curses because the multiple curses were like a complex intertwined web. The only way for Subaru to live was to kill the dogs to prevent the curse from activating, and that is exactly what happened. So, curses from those dogs are still in Subaru, just not activated. Crunchyroll keeps mistranslating pronouns. 184 said, "I thanked you for saving me. It is not within your rights to ask anything further." whereas the subtitles said "not within my rights" which doesn't even make sense... Also "duchess to the black dragon" not "duchess and the black dragon" Both Beako's and Roswaal's copies were genuine copies of the Tome of Wisdom (little detail: the Tome of Wisdom is actually Echidna's Authority, and those genuine copies given to Roswaal and Beako have no proper term, so they're also just referred to as Tome of Wisdom) but even though Beako's was a genuine copy, it stopped showing her her future for some reason. That Al scene was crazy. He may not be part of the Witch's Cult, but it's really sus that he had the mirror metia. We know that the Witch's Cult uses that to contact each other. Petelgeuse and his fingers had those metia, which is where Anastasia and her crew got the metia from. Now Regulus and Capella have them too. There is a small possibility that Al may have gotten one of Anastasia's Camp's metia, which I do quite doubt though.

Having recently rewatched the series, I think I disagree on the dog mabeasts. Betty was very specific that if the dogs that cursed Subaru weren’t dead in time, he would have a guarantee of dying. There was nothing to imply that the curse was somehow deactivated, but rather that it was removed when Subaru and Rem went back out and slaughtered a good chunk of them. Subaru surviving seemed confirmation of the removal of that curse. I think I agree with pretty much everything else you said though.

@ Yeah, it wasn’t directly stated, but it is a way to interpret the dialogue. We know from Betty that the mabeasts take half a day to activate their curses that they placed. So, one way to interpret what she said was that if we kill those mabeasts, then they could never activate their curses. Therefore, the curses would still be in Subaru, but just never activated, and we know that curses don’t do harm unless they are activated. It also makes sense with what we saw this episode. We know that there is a curse from the dragon blood in Capella. In that scene we see the dog mabeasts and a pink-eyed dragon fighting each other, which is representative of each of the curses

@@NightBlazr_ Yeah, thinking back I think you might be right. I forgot that she said she couldn’t actually remove the curses, and I had assumed that killing the mabeasts removed it, not only disabled it. I felt pretty confident because it felt like an odd detail to suddenly become relevant two season later.
