The spurs are fine Yes wemby takes losing very hard but he knows it’s about the long game Each game they are all learning together and their efficiency is creeping in the right direction. Wembys shot selection is slowly changing And tonight the warriors had 25 turnovers and looked like the messy team. Without curry to hit some daggers the spurs would have won that game. They were within 4 with a minute left and possession. Wemby took an open 3 and missed and the warriors hit all their free throws and won But the spurs are getting good And the culture and commitment and comraderie is there So don’t worry They will be better then okc. Giddy is gone but he wasn’t contributing that much anyway

Pop wants to build Jeremy and erase his weaknesses as it’s shooting and ball control, so he gives him the ball. He’s improving quickly and even though he isn’t really good yet, give him a season and he’s gonna be a beast. Btw Wemby at 4, because he’s not ready play at center, and Jeremy is very important on defence - see how Spurs are worse without a Jeremy. Also Bucks did the same with Giannis, they have given him the ball and now you see the results. Peace

I've been here since I was a kid watching my spurs win since we drafted Tim, but the first year Steph exploded in the league(and honestly, even before that when Steph was a rookie), I knew our days were numbered due to coaching style and draft choices. I knew the 3 ball would minimize defense and players would only become better at it thus changing the Spurs forever. We run our team exactly the same as the NE Patriots, and when you have a top 3 all time player (Tim for spurs, brady for NE) they make all the bad stuff go away. They give you the ability to justify hard coaching (which, lets be honest isn't for everyone). Look at Pop's arguably 3 greatest coaches from his tree, Kerr, Becky and Ima: all embody the tuff defensive style in one way or another but heavily preach shooting the 3 and playing for each other; they also allow there stars to cook. I think Pop lost that the second Tim left that building. Long story short, I have been wanting them to let go of Pop since Tim left the building, and I was begging them to do it and essentially "clean house" once they lost Kawhi. If in 3 years they are not competing for the playoffs and in title contention, then Wembanyama should rightfully request a trade, they should finally fire Pop and move to Austin because this will have gone nowhere fast.
@GhostOfBillCooper10 ай бұрын

Dude stop the bol bol/Porzingis comparison for fucks sake. Just watch actual spurs games. In 30 games wemby showed us enough proof that he’s promising. At 7’5 he’s very athletic, fluid and agile. He can create his own shots, 3-point shooting, midrange, can drive to the basket, post up, passing ability, his blocking skills. And most of all, he plays well at crunchtimes. He’s got that dog in him. At 19 years old, he went toe-to-toe with KD, AD, Giannis, etc. The problem is the team itself. The stupid sochan experiment. Bums, ball-hog players. No legit point guard, no legit shooter, no legit bigman (other than wemby). The team is a total trash. Skillswise, wemby is miles ahead of bol and Porzingis combined. Accept that he’s levels ahead. Most of the Duncan era the style of play wasn’t raining down threes. It’s a different game today. Whoever they get to complement Wemby from 1-4 need to be lockdown 3 pt defenders period. If they can keep a team to 99 points they will win many of games. Start with tanking and get Zach Edey to pair up with Wemby one is a finesse type of dominant player and the other is a rim rattling power house dominant player. Both 7’4. Put Trey at point because that’s what he is and more than capable to take care of the pt guard duties. Put Jeremy back at small forward. Vassell stays at 2 guard if he stays healthy. Wemby gets to be let loose and Zach dominates the rim. Trey, Jeremy, and Vassell need to work on becoming lock down defenders all the way to the 3 pt line. Everybody else comes off the bench. Tanking one more time and with all those no 1 picks they can make it happen. Let’s get real you can’t expect to get in the playoffs and win a championship in his first year. Duncan didn’t do it and he had a better supporting cast plus it’s not the same game today. It’s different. Defend the 3 point line and let your stars have at it on offense

It’s obvious spurs are tanking an maybe next year too they got good picks those years I’m pretty sure by 2025 or 2026 that’s when they will compete to win again the suns game was a preview of how good they gonna be

They need to incorporate their "big three" .... Johnson, Wemby, and Vassell. We need better PG'S.. Maybe Dragic, or George Hill. Although they're older they have veteran leadership and know how to run a team. Put Sochan back to being our best defender him playing off ball. We need plays for the WHOLE TEAM... Not just WEMBY... Malachi branham can pick and roll and it's good in the mid-range. Pop needs to dust off those playbooks. Cause THIS ISN'T WORKING. And tanking in this case won't do much good cause who wants to lose consistently without a GLIMPSE of what we look like WHEN WE'RE GOOD? KELDON AND VASSELL might decide they want out. Then what? Wemby won't be able to do it by himself.... And offense isn't the problem we score without us having many plays ran. I'd say... Look at the free agent market currently pick some defenders!!! .. too many late closeouts if at all, missed assignments. We couldn't guard PIO if he decided to go out there and lay some up and play

Yeah, a successful team is built on a combination of talented players, effective coaching strategies, and a supportive organizational structure. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Perhaps they're trying to tank. There's no way Pop doesn't know how to use Wemby.
@GOATiology10 ай бұрын
Pop is known for his strategic brilliance, and I believe he's got a plan in place for Wemby.
@AlldatJazz-rw9wy10 ай бұрын
Man this doesn't have anything to do with, Wemby that their coaching. That old stuff Pop has them on, teams don't run like that anymore. They should have gotten a new coach, but no they want to ride the narrative with Pop. They want to give him another chance with Wemby, but it's not gonna work, that's why Kawhi left. Pop is old and out dated, time to move on from him.

its not that 20 point leads are easily blowable, the spurs durability throughout the game just shows that they're incapable of maintaining a lead. 5 games with near 20 point leads were blew? That seems like a spurs problem not a "no leads a safe" problem. It's either their team is bad or wemby is not getting the ball enough.
@GOATiology10 ай бұрын
Regardless, it's clear there's room for improvement.

Spurs offense is good in spurts and terrible at the wrong time. Every time they pass Wemby the ball the spacing on the court is terrible that tells me it’s more basketball iq than anything that makes them lose games they should win.
@GOATiology9 ай бұрын
It seems like they have moments of brilliance but struggle to maintain consistency, especially when passing to Wemby.

The spurs are obviously tanking. Doing dumb stuff on purpose and not looking to acquire better players just yet. They have their Duncan 2.0, they're going to need a Manu and a Tony. What they're currently doing is smarter than trying hard to win. Look how quick OKC's rebuild through the draft went. Now look at how the Bulls never tank and haven't been a threat to win the title in over 25 years.

@bobm.842910 ай бұрын
Just relax. Maybe the Spurs management is thinking about tanking to get another good player next season. And just take it easy, maybe coach Pop just taking Wemby's time to build his body stronger, he is just 19 so don't expect too much from him. Wemby averaging 28 a game won't even carry this team to a semi finals.

Patience is key when it comes to the development of a team and its players. It's also important to trust the process and the decisions made by the coaching staff and management.

wemby basically the trash can... when all the spurs midget cant find a shot they drop it to wemby at the very last seconds, that point, he going to miss the shot most of the time... basically a forceshot thanks to burn time, dont get me wrong, wemby is kinda good at leak out but thats the only thing he can do, given how the team is setup and heavily rely on guards shot first mentality... hopefully the spurs will give him that jokic or sengun like role, where he can be the playmaker off the post and can decide when to take and pass the shot... but sadly that aint gonna happen LOL...
