Even though you were rejected, I think they made a mistake. Your art is astounding. It could've been several things that were at play but please don't let this get you down and know that this is beautiful and stunning. You will still make amazing art with or without them!

Unpopular opinion, perhaps, but I heard a very unpleasant experience someone had in master program in Gobelins, and ever since I changed my opinion that it's a "dream school". All these universities are basically needed, so we can learn skills for our profession of choice. You honestly already have half of the skills needed, if not more. So dont get upset. Maybe Gobelins isn't even worth it. Although i can be wrong

Honestly I can see some things that might need improvement here, but you made a great point - institutions exist to teach you skills, not just to flex already skilled students. This right here has lots of potential, but they probably threw it all out the window for another applicant who already knows everything they teach. Their loss.

@@anamarleticiai don’t know what happened, but i can tell you about smth gobelins has done recently which has severely downgraded them in my mind. they used a « student project » that was made with AI to promote gobelins, and they’re now selling a 1000 € course all about using AI to make « art ». Basically, teaching ppl how to use a tool that continuously steals from talented artists, a massive f you to all the students there.

I was rejected as well and I think I have similar points to work on as you…like character expression and movement, I think the „animators survival kit“ from Richard Williams is helpful when it comes to that. But your colors and composition are beautiful!! I hope this is helpful

It probably is the Oral, based on the amazing work on the portfolio The oral part is actually the most important part to get in, or thay's what the staff/students all told me They definitely are looking for overly qualified yet you can't get in if you've been out of HS for a year (for french students) or two (international students) so yeah, hard to get in :p

Hey ! You probably know me from my infamous Gobelins master application video, I finished the bachelor there and I really think this school is getting worse and worse every year due to terrible management. People of the administration are really dare I say horrible people who don’t care about art and the wellbeing of the students (with a few exceptions) . This school is turning into a cash machine. The nice part is about the classmates and a teacher who is retiring this year. I’m still happy I could live this experience, I will not try again to enter the master this year cause I find this school disgusting. Anyway no one finds job due to ai crisis, better not waste money for a reputation that the school is loosing.
