It's sad and I liked it, but it shows that you don't think how someone who doesn't speak English from birth would think. The simplicity of words is inconsistent in some places but the sentence structure is coherent and follows the rules mostly. I get it, main character is a simpleton, but I haven't seen any people speak like that if they are simple. It looks more like he lacks the language to express himself. So if the lack of knowledge or ignorance of it is needed for reference, I suggest watching people from Russia or Kazakhstan trying to speak English without really knowing it.
